  “What a beautiful way to start my week with the lovely Mika behind the bar and great conversation with Jeff and Leidy. Truly a blessing to have met this crew The guava basil margarita & la duquesa were phenomenal, my favorite was the guava basil Marg For dinner I had the lobster ravioli*chef's kiss, the portion felt but I enjoyed not being full. I took Mika's recommendation on the banana pudding (she also helped with the drink decision). I'm only here for work but I'll be coming back each day for a night cap... If you want to feel like family, come here *July 2026 I first discovered this restaurant in September of 2025 and I was only local for a week and went multiple times. The food, the atmosphere and most of all the customer service. That's why I was highly disappointed to return less than a year later to completely new staff, terrible service. Not only was I not greeted while waiting for the hostess to finish his personal conversation. He sat me down without providing menus for me to look over. After about 10 minutes I had to get up and ask for water as well as menus and our table was not prepared. Despite having a reservation. We had to ask multiple times for our water cups to be refilled, the food is good but unfortunately there are plenty of other places with better service to spend my hard-earned money at.”

  “I have eaten here a number of times and the food is very good. But the service leaves much to be desired. On Friday July 10, I waited fifteen minutes for someone to come to the table. I let the kitchen know I was there. No one came and I left. On my way back home, I saw the manager outside and he said the waiter never came in. I came back today in early afternoon, and the male server was indifferent for the most part. My salad was very good, but the bread, which is usually a whole slice, came well after the fact, and was cut into three small pieces, with a tasty topping. I asked for butter and it never came. I will return because the food is good, but this is not a good look for them,..”

  “I was excited to dine here after seeing the Tik Tok on my timeline, the food was delicious. Service was ok, when we asked the server to explain a dish, he did then added it was self explanatory. I thought that was rude because if it was we would not have inquired for clarification. I also was seated by the front by the window and they were flies. I had to keep swadding them away so they would not get on my food. When I told the hostess about it, her response was yeah you are seating by the window and there is no access to the basement from inside the restaurant, we have to go from the front door. So the flies will keep coming in. Like is that an excuse, that cannot be sanitary. I wanted to like it, but those issues were a definitely a turn off. I definitely will not return or recommend this restaurant.”

  “A must try when visiting NYC. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Carlos and Manny are the best! I got the oysters to start and the sauces that came with them were phenomenal! Kudos to the chef! For dinner I got the Ceviche. The Mahi was so delicious and I loved the texture of the Peruvian corn.”

  “Although the name might be associated with the Buena Vista Social Club play and soumdtrack, this restaurant is not Cuban although it has some cuban elements in its foods. It is more Latin, Think South American, Carribean with a noveau quality. Like a fried sweet plantain side dish with honey and goat cheese which was delicious or a serano ham and guava croquette. New takes on old favorites. The prices were very reasonable for nyc. Nice ambience but a tiny place so make reservations. Small bar. Servuce was good. I woould return here for another meal.”

  “Was in town on business and arrived in town late. Was hungry after a full day of travel and they were able to accommodate us even though it was close to closing time. The food, wine and service was outstanding and I will be back when I'm in town again.”
