Customer Review Summary
Lamb Kleftico is the dish reviewers name most, praised as the standout of the meal, with the Frito Misto, Greek beef Stifado, chicken kebab and spinach and feta pie also singled out as tasty. The Greek Star Martini and a good cortado get mentions too, and one reviewer rates the Sunday roast, especially the roast potatoes and gravy. Many describe a warm, relaxed atmosphere and friendly, attentive service, with several crediting staff for making birthday meals feel special, including a surprise brownie and ice cream with a candle. The set menu is described as good value. Complaints are fewer but specific. One reviewer found mains burnt and dry, with no staff on the floor and long waits in an empty restaurant. Another said a birthday cake was brought out before everyone had finished, and that a gluten-free request seemed overlooked. A third said the pork had hardly any meat and mains portions were small. The surprise birthday dessert with a candle is the detail diners recall most.

“I recently dropped by for a meal and it was absolutely perfect! The atmosphere was lovely, and I was really impressed by the incredible food and top-notch service. I can't stop thinking about the Lamb Kleftico—it was that good! This place ticks all the boxes: cleanliness, speed of service, and value for money. Honestly, I couldn't fault anything and can’t wait to return!”

“I recently visited Olive Tree for a friend's birthday celebration, and unfortunately the experience was disappointing. The food was okay, but the service and atmosphere left a lot to be desired. Prior to the meal, I specifically asked our server to bring out the birthday cake once everyone had finished eating. However, the cake was brought out with very little thought or coordination. Not everyone had finished their main course, there was no attempt to create a celebratory moment, and no one even encouraged the table to sing Happy Birthday. It felt like an afterthought rather than a special occasion. We also informed the staff that my partner is gluten-free, but this seemed to be completely overlooked. There was little acknowledgement of the dietary requirement, which was disappointing and made us question how seriously such requests are taken. To make matters worse, the bill came to over £300. For that amount of money, I would expect attentive service, a welcoming atmosphere, and some care taken to accommodate a birthday celebration and dietary needs. Unfortunately, neither the service nor the atmosphere justified the price, and the overall experience felt like poor value for money. While the food itself was acceptable, the lack of attention to detail, poor service, and underwhelming atmosphere mean I would not rush back or recommend it for special occasions.”

“Excellent! We really enjoyed our evening at the OliveTree. They were really kind and accommodating to us from the word go. We arrived very early and enjoyed drinks before we ate. For our early dinner we all enjoyed the set menu. Good choices, excellent value and all very tasty. Three courses each left us all well and truly sated. Ewan looked after us impeccably and made our meal just what the doctor ordered. We'll be back!”

“We had a lovely family Sunday lunch yesterday. Service was great and the food and general atmosphere was good too. The only gripe was those of us who ordered the pork hardly got any meat and the portions were generally very small for mains. Food was tasty but just not substantial enough.”

“We had a wonderful date night at The Olive Tree Brasserie. The food was very tasty and the atmosphere was lovely - warm, cosy and perfect for a date night. We had originally booked a table on their rooftop, which they have on site, but due to the rain during the day it was closed - which was completely understandable. We were still seated inside and had a great evening. Service was really good too. Our waitress was a fairly young girl, I didn't catch her name but she was lovely, attentive and friendly. I had read some previous reviews regarding the service charge, but I can confirm this was NOT automatically added to our bill. I actually asked her if there was a service charge because I was intending to leave something for the great service, so I left 12% of the bill as a tip. We were meant to come here a couple of weeks earlier to celebrate my birthday but due to personal reasons I had to cancel, so it was so nice to finally make it. I really enjoyed the food and the Greek Star Martini - delicious! A great evening for me and my partner, thank you. We will definitely be back to try the rooftop next time!”
