Customer Review Summary
French toast draws the most specific praise, from the Showstopper, described as decadent, crisp and light with a cinnamon sugar crunch and vanilla filling, to a peaches and cream special that reviewers found tasty and beautifully presented. Close behind are the Ottoman breakfast, toast and eggs on a choice of white or brown sourdough, and a Spanish latte, while a strawberry daiquiri mojito won over one diner's husband. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and attentive, and reviewers describe the room as welcoming, clean and calming. The criticisms are about details. One reviewer found the room quite loud even with few people, and the Juniper Club sandwich rather charred on the bottom, with pre-salted chips and a Juniper Slaw that tasted like cabbage and onion in milk. Another wanted the chicken club saucier, and one found the pricing a little steep for an upgraded jacket potato. Two reviewers describe birthdays handled warmly, including a server who brought cake and ice cream and sang for a one-year-old.

“Came on Saturday for brunch as a family of 4 with 2 little ones. Food was lovely and came quickly we really enjoyed it! Big thanks to Sophie as it was my daughter’s 1st birthday and she made it special by bringing cake, ice cream and singing for her (plus some for my other daughter too). Great atmosphere.”

“Clean and open, but quite loud even with relatively few people. Friendly, helpful staff with a good level of professionalism. I got the Juniper Club sandwich in toasted sourdough bread, which was a bit thickly cut for a sandwich and rather charred on the bottom, but held up well with plenty of fillings. The accompanying chips were thick and crisp with a fluffy centre, though I would prefer them not to be pre-salted. The Juniper Slaw on the side gave the feeling of shredded cabbage and onion in a puddle of milk, which wasn't to my liking. Overall, though, a very good meal. I've also had The Showstopper and thought it was great, but don't see the need for a sprinkling of Biscoff crumbs on the plate, which feels accidental. The flavour of the crumb also doesn't pair particularly well with the blueberries it covers in my opinion. The line of mango and blueberry purée tasted almost exclusively of the blueberry, which wasn't bad, just a bit pointless to also have the mango. The French toast itself was decadent; crisp, light and a sweet crunch from the cinnamon sugar, pairing well with the vanilla filling flavour. The melted gelato filling didn't make the majority of the toast soft at all and even the bottom wasn't quite soggy yet. I did find that the Chantilly cream flavour wasn't for me, but mixing it into the purée helped. The topping wafer was a wafer 🤷♀️. The only real criticism I would have here is that the teacups have a ridiculously small handle, which could be difficult to grip and I found to be a bit of a nuisance. Overall I would recommend a lunch out here, though the pricing is a little steep (£13 for an 'upgraded' jacket potato, salad and milky slaw), the service level is very good and the atmosphere is welcoming.”

“Absolutely fantastic. The only bad thing about this restaurant is that there’s far too much to choose from! The Ottoman breakfast was delicious. The staff are so kind and attentive. We cannot wait to return. Thank you so much!”
