About Spirit Restaurant & Lounge
Spirit Restaurant & Lounge is a wedding venue and bistro set in a manor house on Park Manor in Warrington. The space hosts weddings and other private functions, including family parties and works Christmas meals, alongside its modern British restaurant service. The kitchen takes a pre-order approach, with dishes such as seabass served with potatoes, beans, tomatoes, olives and egg. The venue also operates as a walk-in bistro, and the building's period rooms form the setting for both the restaurant and the private events it runs.

Customer Review Summary
The critical reviews come from long-standing customers who say it has declined. Both object to the pre-order only menu, with one comparing it to airline booking. One reports being kept waiting in the bar, then dining beside a wedding reception with children running past and a noisy bar. Their sea bass arrived missing the tomato, olives and egg, and the fish was tough. Another found the sea bass overcooked on one plate and the Saturday night atmosphere dire with only two other tables booked. Smaller portions and the end of bread with whipped butter are also noted.

“Thoroughly recommend this venue. We jointly celebrated our parents 90th & 93rd birthdays. Prague & his team made us feel special. We all enjoyed the food, service and ambience. The whole experience was excellent. Thank you so much & will look forward to visiting again soon.”

“It used to be good.....sadly it is a shadow of its former self.. Pre order your food, what?... Yes order what you want some weeks in advance, I thought it was only easyJet and one or two other airlines that did this. Ambiance.......on a Saturday night...dire. Only 2 other tables booked in. The food, was ok to good.. Sea bass, one fine the other over cooked.. The service poor.. Sadly we won't be using this one again!!”

“The Stacey family have been to this beautiful restaurant for family meals over the last couple of years. The food is delicious, place is beautiful and staff very welcoming. Prague is very helpful and makes sure the evening is perfect for our family. I would recommend this beautiful place for family parties, weddings etc.”

“A very disappointing experience. After being a customer for nearly 10 years, coming here for special occasions throughout each year, we won't be coming back again. Booked for 7pm - we were left waiting in the bar until 7.30. When we eventually were shown to our table we were the only ones in the restaurant, however the function room was booked for a wedding reception (or similar). We had a constant stream of children running past our table shrieking and dozens of adults traipsing back and forwards to the bar and drunks stumbling towards us. The noise was awful and we couldn't hear ourselves talk. We moved to a different table but it didn't change anything. We should have been told there was a wedding on - we would have gone elsewhere. (Presumably that is exactly why they didn't tell us.) My main course came out missing half the components (seabass with potatoes, beans, tomatoes, olives and egg - there was no tomato, olives or egg) and the fish was tough as old boots. Due to the mass catering going on clearly the attention hadn't been paid to our order. I couldn't get anyone's attention to tell them and nobody came back to ask how everything was. We asked for the bill and the second the transaction had gone through the man raced off. My husband wanted to have a word and let it be known how unhappy we were but we couldnt catch him. The only other staff member we could see was the barman who was swarmed. We just wanted to get away from the chaos, so left. Not happy with the service at all. The place has changed so much - I remember the lovely ambience it used to have with the pianist playing and the relaxed, attentive staff. Also, the pre order only service they have introduced is not ideal. Part of the experience of dining out is reading the menu and deciding what you want - how can you know what you'll feel like that far in advance? I expect the reason is so they only buy what they need so they make more money, but that impacts dramatically on the customers experience. The portions are getting smaller (my starter would have comfortably fit on a tablespoon - not kidding) and the prices higher. No bread and whipped butter anymore either. It will be no great loss to Spirit to loose two customers (and i expect I'll get a flippant response to this review), but for us it is a great shame.”
