Customer Review Summary
Cask ales draw the most attention at this back street Walsall pub, with reviewers counting four to six on at a time and praising quality ale and several great beers. The skittle alley comes close behind, used for family get togethers and parties and described as great fun for all ages and levels of bowling ability, with basket meals possible when booked. Reviewers also mention a lovely Sunday roast, delicious food, and pool with friends. Staff are called friendly and welcoming, one reviewer noting service with a genuine smile, and the vibe is described as chilled. The complaints are few but specific. One drinker found the Shropshire Gold questionable in quality, and another, at a social gathering before Christmas, called the atmosphere disappointing and said staff were not much help on arrival, though the lager was nice. Early evening brings tradesmen in for a homeward bound drink, with banter and laughs at the close of their working day.

“I went here shortly before Christmas last year for a social gathering with some friends from Walsall Arboretum Running Club. Despite that the lager was nice, the atmosphere was disappointing for me. When I at first got there, the people were not of much help and with that I didn't know what to do. If I was invited here again, I'd personally refuse to go.”

“Few drinks & pool with the boys. Drank too much, made some bad decisions.”

“Nice looking back street pub with 4 or 5 cask ales on though the quality of the Shropshire Gold I had was questionable considering it's a GBG pub.”
- Vin Chenzo
“Jaz and team do an excellent job to provide a great experience for all. Love the chilled vibe here. Would recommend.”
