Customer Review Summary
Reviewers consistently highlight the friendly, polite staff as the main attraction, noting that the waitresses readily accommodate seating choices and that the team goes above and beyond when looking after service users with learning disabilities. Specific praise points to the generous Philly steak sub and the fluffy, crispy-shelled Yorkshire pudding, while several diners commend the hot, fresh dishes such as the steak cooked to their liking. A recurring drawback is the uneven service speed, with one patron waiting 20 minutes for food and another describing a birthday meal that arrived after companions had finished, and occasional overcooked items like a steak served extra well done and salmon browned on the edges. One reviewer also mentioned receiving a to-go box after a long wait, underscoring the delayed service issue.

“Adele, Beth and Miah at Hungry Horse in Walsall are honestly some of the nicest girls and hardest-working workers I’ve ever met. The whole team there from the rest of the staff down to the mangers are incredibly helpful. We bring our service users on a Friday for a meal out and the staff always go above and beyond to ensure they’re well looked after. Even though we sometimes stress them out they always remain professional, patient and kind especially when looking after people with a learning disability. Thank you again to the team at the Walsall waterfront.”

“Visited prior to going to the cinema next door. The salmon was an average size only. A little overcooked in the thickest part and grossly overcooked on the edges where it was thinner. Chips were average, sald had dressing on whether you …”

“Amazing food here!! Luke the chef is amazing, everything so hot and fresh. For a chain pub this is amazing, you won’t be disappointed. We live by the Keymaster in Willenhall but this is 10x better and such friendly service”

“Had an absolutely awful experience here on Saturday. I came for my birthday with my mom and her friend and they had completely finished eating their meal before mine even came out. They wasn't even nearly finished. They completely finished …”

“Went on a Monday afternoon, barely anyone there and had to wait 20 minutes for food which resulted in me getting half way through my meal and having to wait a further 20 minutes to ask for a to go box. There was one doing drinks and another taking an order as well as answering the phone. Considering there was a queue forming the common sense would have been to quickly get the queue down and then do the drinks. Service was very slow. Food was good from what I ate of it.”

How this listing is sourced
- Where the data comes from
- Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
- How it stays current
- Listings are re-checked in batches against their public profile, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
- How it is ranked
- Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
