Customer Review Summary
Burgers from the Grill Pit kitchen are the main draw, with reviewers praising fresh smash burgers, a huge burger where nothing was dry or cold, and a vegan Hey Hot Stuff burger with jalapeños and onion rings. Close behind are the Vegan Duck Loaded Fries, called messy but so worth it, plus home cooked mac n cheese and chilli and a Kinder Bueno milkshake. Portions are described as huge, and staff are repeatedly called friendly. Drinks earn credit too, including a good selection, cocktails with decent measures, and a pint enjoyed in the outside area, though one reviewer notes it gets very busy at peak times. The main complaint is one detailed account of a group event where the under 18s leaving time was moved from 10pm to 8pm, staff threw away the group's food and cake without asking, and the bouncers were rude. Another diner describes the chef hand delivering pigs in blankets that were not even on the menu.

“Absolutely awful experience. We were told on the door on the night that under 18s had to leave by 10pm, so we passed that information on to everyone in our group. Then staff suddenly changed it to 8pm, forcing people to leave much earlier than we were told. Completely disorganised and no proper communication. We spent around £150 on food and cake, and without asking or confirming with us they binned all of it. Some of those items were things we wanted to keep, but staff just threw everything away. The bouncers were incredibly rude and acted like they owned the place. Completely unnecessary attitude towards paying customers. In total we spent around £1300, and honestly it was a complete waste of money. The service, organisation and treatment of customers was terrible. For the amount of money we spent, we could have had a far better experience somewhere else. Avoid this place.”

“I visit this bar often and it’s honestly a fabulous spot every time. The atmosphere is great—really welcoming, relaxed, and perfect whether you’re just popping in for a quick drink or staying a bit longer. The drinks are excellent, with a good selection on offer, and everything is served to a really high standard. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into running the place, and it shows. The hired room is also fantastic—such a great space for events or gatherings, and it really adds something extra to the venue. Overall, it’s a fantastic bar that I keep coming back to, and I’d definitely recommend it to others.”

“We just came in for some dinner and it was the best meal we’ve had out for a long time. The staff (Brit and I’m so sorry I’ve forgotten the gents name already, got baby brain, would like to say Richard? 😬🤣) were brilliant and so friendly, if we’re ever back in the area will 100% come back here again. Reasonably priced, great food & portions and nice atmosphere. Thank you guys 😊x”

“Unbelievably friendly and helpful staff… barmaid was so cheery and went above and beyond to make us welcome . Food was AMAZING, home cooked mac n cheese was to die for. Chilli was home cooked too. Smash burgers were freshly cooked to perfection. The winner winner were the pigs in blankets hand delivered by the chef himself !! (Not even on the menu but I had mistaking looked at an old menu on line) … the barmaid must have told the chef and BOOM ! There they were ? Could tell that the chef was passionate about his quality of food. Had a nice chat ! Huge portions. Took some home for later . Certainly value for money BIG time . Thank you both so much for making us feel so welcome. I hope your manager sees this and awards you for your commitment !”

“Famed for their burgers, it was great to see they had a plant-powered menu with a large selection of options! Myself obviously going for the “Hey Hot Stuff” which was a @movingmountainsfoods patty, vegan cheese, jalapeños, roquito chillies, onion rings, spicy vegan mayo and the usual burger toppings. There’s a good selection of sides too, but what won it for me was the Vegan Duck Loaded Fries! Quacking with flavour, the ‘duck’ was succulent and tender! Smothered with juicy hoisin sauce and topped hoisin mayo, toasted sesame seeds, spring onions and red chillies. I would happily return here just to gutbash on the fries alone! And there’s few venues up and down the country, including London, Leeds and Manchester. Real messy but so worth it!”
