About Carpenter's Arms
Carpenter's Arms is a pub with rooms in Tonbridge on Three Elm Ln, with nine bedrooms upstairs for guests who want to stay overnight. The kitchen serves a full English breakfast with black pudding, and beef pie and mash is on the menu for lunch or dinner. Behind the bar, the garden has huts and a spot called the snug, and a covered area with heaters and electric blankets extends the space. Dogs are welcome inside the pub. The team runs it as both a place for a drink and a base for visitors to the town.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the friendly, welcoming staff, with several describing servers who go out of their way and say nothing is too much trouble, even on a busy Valentine's night. The Sunday roast draws strong praise, with meats described as full of flavour, and the beef pie and mash and the sticky toffee pudding with caramel ice cream also earn compliments. The outdoor space is a close second draw, from a covered area with electric blankets and heaters to a garden with huts and a snug. One visitor describes a plush bed and a bag of treats for their dog. The kitchen draws the complaints. One reviewer found the calamari soaked in fat, the fries greasy and the coleslaw mostly mayonnaise, calling the food overpriced. Another found the hake dry and tasting previously frozen, and a third found the quiche heavy on broccoli and light on cheese. One couple celebrating an anniversary breakfast had their coffees taken off the bill.

“Always a lovely warm and friendly reception at this pub. Staff tonight Jaime,Hollie and Grace go out of their way to meet your every need. Always with a smile and makes you feel like a very special guest. We didn’t stay so can’t judge rooms but I’m sure the same level is extended there.”

“The staff are always so friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. Paige and Grace looked after us very well. Hollie the Manager on duty was spot on and is a credit to the pub. Lovely outside space where we enjoyed our meal al fresco and relaxed, we will return! ❤️”

“Grace is Fabulous. Professional, Kind, Witty and makes the venue memorable! I enjoyed the beef pie & mash very much, the beef was succulent and the gravy delicious, unfortunately, the quiche was a tad disappointing, too much broccoli not enough cheese. The sticky toffee pudding and caramel ice cream was perfect to finish. Yum 😋 However we would come back just to see Grace !! Sharon and Antony”

“Beautiful pub, great service, but avoid the food The place itself is lovely and the people working here are incredibly nice, but the food was a massive disappointment and very overpriced. The seafood was not good at all; the shrimp lacked flavor and the calamari was completely soaked in fat. The fries were also horribly greasy, leaving an unpleasant aftertaste all night, and the coleslaw was just a massive mound of mayonnaise with barely any vegetables. Go for a drink and the atmosphere, but definitely skip the food.”

“Lovely, attractive pub, with attention to planting baskets etc. Really looks lovely. Staff friendly - it would have been nice to be acknowledged quicker on arrival, but this is just a small bug bear. Lovely friendly and happy waiter. Friends had Caesar Salad & the burger. I had the hake, which I have to say was disappointing. Not much flavour, dry, almost tastes like it was previously frozen, not fresh. At £22 was hoping for more flavour.... Otherwise a good place to meet with friends, and lovely atmosphere”
