About The Ivy House Tonbridge
The Ivy House Tonbridge is a pub at 199 High St in Tonbridge, set in a former toll house with oak beams inside a 15th-century Kentish building. The kitchen is open, and the menu runs from a full English breakfast to a roast dinner. The pie of the day is chicken, ham and leek, served with cauliflower cheese in a pot. Moules appear in a wrap and alongside pan fried cod. Burgers come with chips, with the option of chips with toppings. Sticky toffee pudding is among the puddings. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the food, with the roast dinner and the chicken, ham and leek pie served with cauliflower cheese as standout plates. Close behind come the puddings, where sticky toffee pudding is named repeatedly, along with the moules, halloumi wraps and pan fried cod with mussels. The heated, covered terrace is a frequent draw, with blankets and heaters mentioned, and several describe the staff as friendly and the building as a lovely old pub. Beer and wine selections get praise, though one reviewer wanted more experimental beers beyond the premium lagers and Guinness. The caveats are scattered: one finds the veggie options thin and the mushroom burger pricey next to the meat dishes, one says service was slow, and another reports no alcoholic beer, no ice for soft drinks and heaters switched on during a hot July day. One reviewer who had the full English breakfast called it excellent before walking on to Bowden park and the lake.

“Gorgeous 15th century building, food great and well priced. Can recommend the moules and halloumi wraps! Staff v friendly, which made this a particularly chilled and happy atmosphere. We are definitely making this a stop when we are back in Tonbridge”

“First visit with the family on a Friday evening. Lovely pub and atmosphere. Super service and friendly staff. Delicious meal, with fresh ingredients. I had the pan fried cod, with mussels followed by a large apple crumble with ice cream. Washed down with a glass of wine. Would definitely go back. Thoroughly enjoyable evening.”
