About The White Hart
The White Hart is a pub on Tonbridge Rd in Sevenoaks, housed in an early 17th-century coaching inn that stood beside the old Sevenoaks turnpike and has served travellers for over 300 years. Inside, low ceilings and old country pub décor set the look of the rooms, and the team brings food and drinks to the table. The kitchen cooks roasts with lamb, beef, pork or a mixed plate, in generous portions. The dessert menu fills a whole page. Dogs are welcome, so walkers can bring them along. Knole Park is a short walk away.

Customer Review Summary
Sunday roast is the main draw, with diners praising the lamb, beef, pork and mixed roasts for generous portions and full flavour, enough that one group took leftovers home. Close behind are the duck leg, the ham, egg and chips, the cajun chicken burger and a chicken caesar salad with white anchovies, plus a full page of desserts. Reviewers also mention friendly, attentive table service, a terrace and garden for sunny days, low ceilings inside, and an allergen QR menu with a filter, with most options automatically gluten free. The caveats are modest. One reviewer found the small car park difficult and suggests booking in advance, one calls the pub very pricey while others describe the prices as reasonable, and one diner found the beef bourguignon served differently than expected. Several single out staff kindness, from helping a 99 year old diner and his walker to the table to bringing Cokes, ice cubes and a cold towel when a guest felt faint.

“A great pub just a small walk from Knole Park so a perfect spot for a lunch after a long walk. The menu is superb, with a wide range of starters, mains and especially deserts (a whole page just for deserts?! 🤤) Friendly staff and a lovely garden for a sunny day. Highly recommend.”

“Really great service, so good they let you choose how much to tip! Tasty food, table service, comfy outdoor seats, nice spaces inside, clean toilets and a decent sized carpark. Very pricey and worth every penny!”

“We have been here a few times before, excellent food and fantastic service. A special thank you to Debbie, who was incredibly kind, caring and quite knowledgable when my sister suddenly felt faint. She looked after my sister by bringing Cokes, ice cubes, and a cold towel, and kept checking to make sure she was okay. Her compassion and professionalism really made a difference, and we can’t thank her enough. Outstanding customer service—we highly recommend this restaurant!”

“My Mum and I took my 99 year old father-in-law for lunch and were very impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff - especially taking the time to get him and his walker to the table and out when we left. The food was delicious - the ham, egg and chips was a very generous portion. The cajun chicken burger was tasty and the chicken caesar salad felt very elevated with juicy chicken breast, bacon and white anchovies. The ambience was great. It is his favourite place to be taken out to and we can see why. Looking forward to our next visit, perhaps on his 100th birthday in October!”

“We had a booking for 5 people inside but I called ahead and they kindly amended our booking to accommodate two extras. When we arrived, as the weather was beautiful, they seated us at a lovely table on the newly refurbed terrace. Our server Andrew was friendly and professional and our roasts were all amazing! Portion sizes were super generous leaving plenty to take home for a cheeky tea later on. Thanks so much to the team at The White Hart - we are pretty regular and don’t go anywhere else for our roasts!”

“The White Hart is a fascinating building, its intriguing architecture bearing witness to many and varied stylistic influences in vogue since it was built in the early 17th century. It was originally positioned right next to the Sevenoaks turnpike, and as you'd expect of a coaching inn that has been nourishing and refreshing travellers for over 300 years, you'll find character and charm at every turn.”
