Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return most for the carvery, singling out the Honey Roast Glazed Gammon, roast turkey, roast beef and paprika roasties, and "the works" carvery. Close behind is the breakfast buffet, with praise for the hashbrowns, warm waffles and roast potatoes alongside the bacon and eggs. Others mention the Butchers Board pizza, fish and chips, and the ice cream and cookie desserts. Staff come up repeatedly as friendly and helpful, including a waiter who sang for a birthday plate, a team that stored a cake and put up decorations for a large family party, and a staff member who rang back about a takeaway item that had run out and offered a different product. Families note staff who spoke to the kids and a relaxed atmosphere. The complaints are specific. One diner was charged the standard carvery price instead of the advertised lower one because a sign-up code was needed, spent a lengthy time registering, and was refunded before switching to half-price pizza. Another found the spuds lukewarm and the black pudding overcooked.

“My family enjoyed a birthday meal and drinks at this lovely Stonehouse in Studley. The staff were friendly and the building was well furnished and kept. It’s a place I’d definitely return to if I ever visit the area. The food prices are reasonable and the quality is good. The food arrives promptly and there’s plenty of staff available to assist. The pub’s atmosphere was pleasant, at least during lunchtime when I was there.”

“we came in a couple of weeks ago and had a great time, food was great and the service was lovely. ordered a takeaway this evening and even though they had ran out of something, they rang me and sorted out a different product which was great, and the gentleman on the phone was so helpful. honestly not had a bad experience here over the years and will be coming back regularly!”

“Love coming for a carvery! Place is always clean well organised and food is always stocked! Staff are all so warm and welcoming and always on hand! My eldest is disabled and struggles when out and this is the only restaurant she feels safe happy and secure in! My youngest has picca and your turkey is one of his safe food he adores! Also the breakfast is the bomb best hashbrowns!”

“Can definitely recommend the buffet breakfast I'm using a picky eater but the whole thing was amazing, i was surprised that they had roast potatoes with the breakfast but it really worked well and the warm waffles are gorgeous. Well done to everyone.”
