  “The best restaurant in the surrounding area, in my opinion. A lovely historic site that has been beautifully updated in a picturesque setting right on the river Arrow. A few years back I visited with family, and despite the decent food, the service was appalling. However, on the recommendation of close family, who have continued to come since, we all returned, and what a difference! 180° turnaround. Honestly flawless service now. We were all very impressed. As for the food, I could write a lot more, but suffice to say it's magnificent. It is in the sweet spot between bistro-style good homely cooking on one side and pretentious fare on the other, luckily not straying into the latter. It's well presented, with good sized but not gluttonous sized portions, from a menu that is sensible in size, thereby immediately revealing that the food is freshly cooked each night and not —like some places that have menus that go on forever, with what is supposed to pass as food — having been zapped in a microwave from frozen. The taste is authentic as a result. Delicious, perfectly done and cooked with care and skill in equal measure. And how nice it is to find a restaurant that does good traditional British dishes as they should be done, reviving them and keeping them alive, rather than having a menu that is a mere ensemble of imitation, a patchwork of pastiches from across the globe. Kudos to whoever the chef is, as the food is something to be truly proud of. The menu is a finely curated culinary carte, offering something for all without sacrificing an identity behind the restaurant. No, honestly, 10/10. If I lived locally any more I would be back far more often, but look forward to returning when I can. Thank you to the owners and staff for this delightful gem of a restaurant!”

  “We went here for Sunday roast after visiting previously for the air festival . Both times we have been impressed. Very good pub very good food excellent service.. excellent decor and vibe. Extremely clean..great facilities such as outdoor BBQ (basically an outdoor kitchen) lots of outdoor seating on grass. Garden games such as table tennis and hooplah etc.. lovely scenery. Nice ponds and grounds . Nice quiet sophisticated location and atmosphere . Food is of a higher standard and definitely freshly cooked by a competent chef and kitchen staff. I can only give it 4 or 5 but this place is more like a 4.8 second time we've been here.. I'm sure will be back.. a tad expensive for some, but imo justified by the grounds the staff the overheads and just all round general quality..”

  “Stayed 1 night as part of a roadtrip. Very pleased with the room and food quality. Service during dinner was a bit slow - probably due to a lot of part time staff on for the football. Service at breakfast was excellent - a very bright and engaging staff member.”

  “First time at Arrow Mill for Father's Day Lunch and we will definitely be back for more. Beautiful pub in huge grounds with loads of outdoor seating. The food and service were both exceptional. It wasn't cheap but it is a high quality offering so you get what you pay for. Looking forward to returning.”

  “Lovely location and restaurant. Attended for the Easter Roast lunch. Food and menu very good. Staff very attentive. Somewhat on the pricey side but worth the treat. Choice of bar table or dining table which is a nice option for different occassions. Haven't stayed as yet but rooms also available.”

  “Lovely setting, with plenty of grounds and dog friendly walks nearby. Sunday roast chicken was very nice, crispy potatoes and succulent chicken. The Crispy Beef Salad was also really good... and the Minced Lamb Pie went down well.. all round a good meal, at a reasonable price. We really enjoy the atmosphere in these pubs, and often use them for stops when travelling... so dog friendly too.”

  “This is a lovely setting and building with a huge number of tables. We had the option of sitting in the bar or restaurant on a Tuesday evening. The food was lovely, if a bit pricey. However the overall experience could have been significantly elevated by better service. At no point did we receive unsolicited attention. It was not busy but were left for a long while without any menus. The waitress was far more interested in the barman than doing her job. A real shame.”

  “Had a Lovley birthday lunch there, food was phenomenal!! Great choice of food, good quality ingredients and cooked beautifully. Hot tasty food! We had the salmon and camembert starter, lamb and venison for mains and shared the chocolate orange tart. All 10/10!! Lovely venue and great views from our table. Staff were very friendly and attentive. We willl definitely be going back!”

  “Attended yesterday Sunday 15th February 2026, for an impromptu birthday lunch for my friend. We did not have a booking, and it was packed. However, the server was extremely polite and without hesitation, explained a table would be ready in ten minutes, which was wonderful news. The staff were all VERTY friendly and helpful. We ordered fish and chips and a pudding. The price was very reasonable and service was excellent. the staff would check up regularly to see if we needed anything. Food was great. Atmosphere was great. I remarked to my friend it was unpretentious. Will definitely go back. Great find!”
