  “This is my first time here since google reviews became a thing and im going to review this experience. the staff are so friendly, and happy and helpful, from the offset i just felt comfortable. The decor is delightful, I could see myself having a family meal here based off this. The menu, albeit small, was a nice selection and price probably about average for the area. Unfortunately the pie of the day, had red wine in the sauce and I wasnt made aware (as you have to ask what the pie of the day is), i dont particularly like that sauce so it stopped me having the opportunity to enjoy it all, but what i did manage to eat was wonderful, felt really homely. We ordered our daughter the brownie and ice cream for dessert and sadly, a hair came in it, not a small hair, a long, well embedded hair. We sent it back and they was very apologetic, and we was sent a replacement. Unfortunately the second one, had spent abit too long in the microwave and the bottom of it was like a brick and was burnt (and tasted it too) we didnt complain again as we had paid the bill whilst waiting for the replacement dessert. Plus the staff are that nice i didnt want to make them feel embarrassed. We did leave a tip because the staff are so nice and attentive. Unfortunately due to the food experience i wouldnt go for a family meal there again but i would definitely go back for drinks and maybe bar snacks. Its a lovely little pub, and i would recommend.”

  “Due to M42 closure, we arrived 40 minutes late for lunch. The staff, Charlotte in particular, were very understanding and accommodating when we phoned ahead and also informed our waiting friends of the situation. On arrival we were treated very well and felt no pressure to rush our meal. The food was excellent, as always, and table service by Charlotte and her colleagues was first rate.”

  “A very nice recent refurbishment. A relaxing atmosphere. The Sunday roast is the best I have had when eating out. There was plenty of tasty food on our plate and we were given extra gravy when we requested it. The staff here are lovely and give you a warm welcome. A good place to meet family and friends. Thank you to all the staff at The Red Lion.”

  “Taken here as guest of friends who live locally. I was very impressed. Seated in pet friendly zone with book shelves with very intriguing books. Great Sunday menu - I had lamb skewer with slaw and it was succulent, tender and well presented. Friends had roast dinners and various puds. My glass of wine was fine. Nice table server. No complaints at all.”

  “Had such a lovely visit and a huge part of that was thanks to our server, Bogdan. He was so friendly, welcoming and genuinely cheerful manner was infectious and made the whole atmosphere feel warm and relaxed. The pub was incredibly dog friendly too, which made a big difference. Bogdan gave my dog plenty of treats, fuss and cuddles, and made us both feel really welcome. Fantastic service and a great experience all round!”

  “Had my birthday meal on the 16th September 2025 . Service and staff were friendly especially Klaudia. What a wonderful lady and she even put a candle on my cake.😊 We especially enjoyed the food its was delicious thank you for a fantastic birthday lunch.”

  “The warm cosy atmosphere within the restaurant was fantastic. The service from Alex was first class and made us feel special. Food was exceptional and we opted for the treat menu £27 for two courses and glad we did.”

  “We received a lovely warm welcome by the Manager, shown to our table in the newly refurbished restaurant and introduced to our fabulous waitress Klaudia. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the new colours and furniture were beautiful. Klaudia was so cheerful, helpful and made us feel very relaxed and looked after. The meal was incredibly delicious, served very quickly and hot. The beef was cooked to perfection, the flavours of the meat and accompanying veg added to a truly fabulous dish. The chefs and kitchen staff deserve high praise, as does Klaudia who also made our visit a special one. We would highly recommend this place to anyone. We will definitely be back soon. 🤩🤩”

  “Had a lovely visit today on their first day back after being closed. I was greeted by Dan, Claudia and Lilly, a sight for sore eyes after all these weeks. The decor looks great and still keeps all of its charm from before the refurbishment. They’ve done an amazing job!!”
