  “We visited as a group of four and generally had good experience. The highlight was definitely the dressed crab-highly recommended by my mum! While the food was tasty and the menu looked great, we did feel it was a bit pricey for what it was. It didn't quite 'wow' us given the higher price point. I would also note that a gratuity is automatically added to the bill at the end.”

  “My partner and I visited The Red Lion, we were greeted with warm and friendly service from the start. The service was the best I’ve experienced; attentive, knowledgable but not pushy or forced. They took care of the small details, noticing an empty drink or some spilt water without hesitation. The evening menu was fantastic. Good portion sizes, lovely presentation and quality sourced food.”

  “3rd visit to the red lion and it’s yet to disappoint! Our waitress, Keeley, was fantastic - warm, friendly, accommodating, everything you could ask for. The roast was hot and delicious and the desserts were fabulous. We’ll be back - thank you :)”

  “We recently visited the Red Lion on Warwick Road in Stratford-upon-Avon for lunch and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience overall. The new decorations are absolutely stunning, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere that feels both fresh and characterful. While the ambience was excellent, the heating wasn’t quite optimal on the day, which slightly detracted from the comfort. We each enjoyed a main course and dessert, and the food was outstanding, exactly the high standard we’ve come to expect from Heartwood Inns. Everything was beautifully prepared, full of flavour, and very reasonably priced, particularly when taking advantage of their app and loyalty scheme, which adds real value. There were a couple of minor issues worth mentioning. A sherry was served in a whisky glass as a single shot, which was disappointing but fixed quickly and our table was unfortunately a little unstable, though this was easily remedied with a strategically placed menu during the meal. Aside from these small points, the service was exceptional, attentive, friendly, and professional throughout. Overall, the Red Lion delivers excellent food, great value, and a welcoming atmosphere. A few minor improvements aside, it’s a highly recommended spot and one we’ll happily return to.”

  “The Red Lion under its old pub chain was our go-to for at least two decades and has been nicely updated under new ‘inn chain’ ownership. New decor is very nice and menu is much more sophisticated along with a huge bar choice of on tap ales, wines and cocktails. We enjoyed lunchtime baguette, baguette and dips, scotch egg and cheese soufflé starters (scoffed before I thought to take photos), steak and fries and fish cake mains and ice cream and sticky toffee desserts. Plus cappuccino and a lethal hot chocolate. Great service (hat tip Zuzanna and colleagues) at a pace that suited a half term treat out. And a very fair price. Just one note, the loos - immaculate and nicely fragranced but apparently lacking hot water on our visit - have been relocated upstairs and that’s a bit of a hike. Welcome back Red Lion, we missed you.”
