About The Dog & Partridge
The Dog & Partridge is a pub on Uttoxeter Rd in Stoke On Trent, serving traditional food from a large menu. The carvery comes with a selection of vegetables, and the grill side of the kitchen offers a mixed grill, including a hunters mixed grill. A two-steak deal sits alongside them for diners who want steak, and the kitchen also serves ribs in large portions. Homemade pies are part of the traditional range too. Meals come with homemade chips, and the pub has several seating areas to eat in. A large car park sits on site.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return most for the mixed grill and steak dishes, with the hunters mixed grill and a steak and ribs plate singled out for tender meat and two huge ribs, and a two steak deal described as cooked perfectly. Close behind are the carvery with its choice of veg, a steak and ale pie, a lamb and mint suet pudding and cottage pie, plus homemade chips called golden and crispy outside and fluffy inside. Portions and prices are repeatedly called good and reasonable, and staff are described as friendly, welcoming and helpful, with one reviewer noting they will alter a dish without question. The caveats are small but specific. One long-time regular waited outside to be let in after covid, was stopped from leaving by the way they came in, found the coffee machine broken, and had a wrong bill that was amended, then noted smaller portions on a later visit that improved on the next. Another mentions a sticky carpet underfoot. That same regular's October return was described as back to full marks.

“We had the 2 steak deal and it was cooked perfectly and very high quality steak. Absolutely delicious and waited less than 20 mins for our meal. 100% recommended”

“Fantastic place for a carvery. Lovely meats, good selection of veg and 3 types of veg. Highly recommend. Jim and the team are very friendly. We used to be regular customers when Jim had The Greyhound in Stafford. We've really missed him and his lovely cooking, so although it's a bit of a drive for us, we will be back.”

“Been here a few times now and loved it every time! The staff are always really welcoming and friendly, and always make time to have a chat when serving. The food at this place is exceptional. My daughter and I aren't the most adventurous when it comes to food but what we do have it cooked to perfection with alterations made as required and without question. If I can advise one thing to anyone reading this then I'd say you have GOT to have chips with your meal. They are beyond nice. Golden brown, crispy on the outside yet perfectly fluffy on the inside. Real, homemade, homemade chips. Absolute perfection! I'd quite happily just sit and eat a plate full of them!!! The portion size are immense for the extremely affordable price you pay. Way beyond expectations, with main meals and desserts alike! I honestly cannot fault this gorgeous pub at all. There is something for everyone, to suit all budgets. We shall continue to be visitors to The Dog and Partridge as long as we are able to visit the area! I can't recommend them enough!”

“Went there with a friend and its got a large car park. Inside was good and food even better. Steak and ale pie was the best I've ever had, anywhere. My friend had a vegetarian pasta dish which she enjoyed. Staff where very helpful and pleasant. Great place I would go again if I'm back in that part of the country.”

“The mixed grils here are absolutely fantastic. Much better than your average pub mixed grill... The Steak and ribs was also absolutely delicious with 2 huge ribs that had loads of very tender meat and not just a sad pile of bones”
