About Crown Wharf
Crown Wharf is a pub on Crown St in Stone, run as a taphouse for Joule's Brewery with a brewery on site. The bar pours real ales, cider, lager and cocktails. The Sunday roast comes with roast beef or pork, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and vegetables, and the pork version adds crackling, apple sauce and a sausage wrapped in bacon. Steak & ale pie with chips is on the menu, along with loaded fries that include a vegan option. The venue is large, with booths, a spacious bar and a function room, and a private dining room gives groups a space of their own. On-site parking covers both cars and boats, so guests can arrive by road or by water. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Food leads the praise, with diners singling out a Sunday roast of beef or pork served with Yorkshire pudding, crackling and a great gravy, a steak and ale pie with vegetables alongside the chips, and loaded fries that one reviewer notes come vegan. Portions are called generous, and several say meals arrived efficiently. Close behind is the building itself, described as huge, quirky and cool, with cosy booths, outdoor seating and a lively bar with good music. Reviewers also mention a good selection of real ales and beer, and service that is friendly, quick and polite. One reviewer felt a waitress put the food down with barely a smile. The sharpest complaint concerns the Gobble till you Wobble burger, which one diner says arrived without its stuffing and sausage patty. Staff said they had run out and offered a small sausage patty and an extra pig in blanket, and a friend's turkey was tough and dry.

“Lovely food. Service of such lovely food could have been better. Waitress basically just put food on table with barely a smile. It somewhat changed the atmosphere of the place. Perhaps she was having an off day and goodness knows we all have those. Though we did see her a few moments later, chatting and giggling with her colleague. The building is fabulous. Love the decor and as I say, food was lovely and well presented.”

“Visited on a fine weather Sunday with family, great to see seating being utilised outside although tables were available. Plenty of space inside and seating found to enjoy a meal which arrived efficiently, tasted good, well cooked and was value for money. Good selection of real ales, cider, larger, cocktails & soft drinks etc. Happy to recommend and return 👍”
