“Recently we organised a funeral wake here. The new owners were absolutely fabulous at staying in touch and adding the extras we requested. The food was the best buffet food I have ever had and the atmosphere is really good. The best thing has to be the little dogs that keeps you company while having a drink 🍻 …”

“Ruth & Ike run a great little pub. We pulled off the A50 for a quick bite, we both ordered the burger (delicious) and had a paddle to try the three Joules beers on tap (excellent and well kept). The pub was clean, welcoming and very friendly. We aren't locals but I'll definitely make a beeline for this pub given the opportunity.”

“Stopped off here after a trip to Alton Towers....and we discovered a Real gem of a proper traditional pub. Excellent food, cooked by a first class Chef.....Best steak I've had in a long time ...Steak was well done has requested.. succulent and tasty. Never tried Black pudding with Steak before but it will now be a regular request... Everything was cooked to perfection. 😎👍 The home made Steak and Ale pie was very well cooked, lovely, meaty, juicy Steak and Ale filling..pastry was light and melted in your mouth.... The home made black pepper gravy was thick and tasty...the home made onions rings were excepional. The side dish of Scampi was also exceptional, no grease, lightly battered and the scampi inside was well cooked and hot. 😎👍 The deserts were traditional deserts, apple crumble with custard and Lemon roulade but both were exceptionally very tasty. Hospitality, Customer Service and atmosphere was second to none. Lovely surroundings with a warm log fire. Really enjoyable meal and experience. Highly recommended. Thank you.😎👍”
