  “My host very kindly brought me here for a late Sunday lunch. He is one of Scott's most loyal customers and, as such, qualifies for a forty per cent discount. So why, then, did the greeter stick us on a dreadful table in the middle of the passage between the kitchen and the busiest part of the restaurant? As I had been brought especially for the view of the three bridges, we asked if we could be seated at a vacant booth beside the window. But no, that was reserved. Clearly for someone much more important than one of their most loyal customers. Anyway, we ordered from the specials menu, him the grilled chicken (£21.95), and me, the Premium Peterhead haddock and chips (£22.95). Living as I do in Felixstowe, where I am used to splendid fish and chips with generous portions, my supposedly premium meal was distinctly underwhelming. A quite small piece of haddock, with far too thick batter, horrible mushy peas and a not very nice curry sauce with a thick skin on top. As I was a guest, I couldn't really say anything, but had I been paying, if I had been one of their most loyal customers, I would have walked out. Just to add insult to injury, the supposedly reserved table remained vacant until the moment my host paid the bill. One wonders whether Scott's have become too big for their boots? Certainly they are pricey, the service less than perfect and the food average at best.”

  “Went for Valentines Day with my partner and it was amazing. Loved the atmosphere. Attentive waiting staff, drinks and food came out in a timely manner. All dishes were perfect, cannot fault them. We were genuinely shocked at how good the price was considering the quality of the food (which included the discretionary service charge). Definitely will be back.”
