About The Hunger Dunfermline
The Hunger Dunfermline is a fried chicken takeaway in Dunfermline, at 5 Bridge St. The kitchen cooks to order and makes its mozzarella dippers and Signature Hunger Sauce in-house, so the dippers and the sauce come from the same kitchen as the chicken. Fried chicken, chicken tenders and wings make up the core of the menu, and the hot peri peri fried wings give the wings a spicier option. Loaded fries and a range of dips sit alongside the chicken for anyone ordering a larger spread. The menu also covers chicken burgers and milkshakes.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the chicken burgers, calling the classic buttermilk burger huge, juicy and crispy, with the Philly steak Hungry Burger and the smash burger also drawing praise. Close behind are the mozzarella sticks, described as huge, and the chicken tenders and fried wings, with hot peri peri wings and peri chicken loaded fries named as favourites. Sauces get regular mentions, including Korean BBQ, garlic mayo, cheese sauce and honey mustard. Several describe generous portions, with one portion of chips feeding two adults, and a few mention the milkshakes and fast delivery. Staff are called friendly and lovely. The caveats are limited. One diner found the garlic parmesan burger base a bit soggy though it tasted incredible, and another calls it pricier than ordinary fast food while still judging the quality better. The one serious complaint describes a delivery told twice to be on the way when cooking had not started, a refused delivery fee refund, and a pickup that still involved a further wait. Another first-time customer, by contrast, received extra items they assumed were complimentary.

“We tried The Hunger tonight and I think it's the best chicken burger I've had, definitely in Dunfermline but maybe elsewhere as well. The Chips were really tasty. 1 portion did 2 adults. I had the classic buttermilk burger, the chicken was huge, crispy, perfectly cooked. The sauce was lovely and the salad worked well. My wife had the garlic parmesan burger, the base was a bit soggy but it tasted incredible and was perfectly cooked as well. Pricier than the normal fast food options but the quality is significantly better. I'm definitely a fifer when it comes to spending money, but this place is great value and worth it as a treat and I'd 100% recommend them.”

“First time customer tonight and all I can say is this is the best delivered takeaway I have had in a very very long time. We received much more than we ordered and I can only assume it wa complimentary. Food was hot and tasty and delivered well before the estimated time. Amazing and highly recommended.”

“Order: Classic smashed burger fries and milkshake. Delivery was very quick and honestly the best burger I've had in a long time. Hot and fresh and the fries were good too. 10 out of 10 I'll definitely be back”

“ABSOLUTELY THE BEST TAKEAWAY WE’VE EVER HAD! This place is an absolute MUST-TRY—honestly, everyone needs to experience it at least once! We went all out and ordered a huge variety from the menu so we could sample a bit of everything… and wow, every single item delivered. The portion sizes were generous, the quality was outstanding, and the whole experience was just next level. The food? Incredible. Everything was cooked to perfection. The chicken was unbelievably tender on the inside with the crispiest coating on the outside, exactly how it should be. And the sauces… don’t even get me started. The Korean BBQ, garlic mayo, and cheese sauce were pure perfection, each one better than the last. The burgers were massive and packed with flavour. The Hungry Burger (with Philly steak!) was unreal....seriously one of the best burgers I’ve ever tasted. The buttermilk chicken burger was just as impressive. Mozerella sticks are to die fir Honestly, we couldn’t even get photos of everything because the food disappeared so fast, it was like hungry hungry hippos the moment it hit the table 😂 On top of all that, the staff were amazing, so friendly, polite, and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. We will 100% be coming back again… and again!”
