About Koku Kitchen
Koku Kitchen is an Asian fusion restaurant in Dunfermline, at 41 Carnegie Dr, with a street-food menu drawn from Korea, Japan, Thailand and China and given a Scottish-rooted twist. The menu takes a western approach to Japanese cooking. The tofu katsu burger comes with onion rings and fries with a creamy sauce, and the ramen includes a miso and tofu version. The kitchen also cooks dishes from Thailand and China alongside the Japanese-leaning plates, so one table can order across several of those traditions. Cocktails are served.

Customer Review Summary
Cocktails come up most often, described as nice, refreshing and lovely alongside the meal. Ramen is close behind, with one reviewer praising a rich broth and perfectly cooked noodles and another calling the miso/tofu version delicious and cosy. Others single out a juicy burger with crispy onion rings, spring rolls one diner calls the best ever, and pad thai with chicken or prawn in decent sizes. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and welcoming, a front manager is credited with looking after guests, and one parent says the kids enjoyed it. Prices are described as reasonable for the portions. The criticisms are small and specific: the edamame seemed less fresh than the other dishes, and one reviewer found the tofu katsu burger nice but wanted a better sauce flavour or a marinated tofu. One happy diner liked the meal enough to take home a sushi collection for dinner.

“Love the menu concept and lots of interesting dishes on the menu. Prices are reasonable too for the portion sizes. The tofu katsu burger was nice but could be improved in terms of the sauce flavour or by marinating the tofu.”

“This Asian restaurant truly exceeded my expectations! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, modern, and welcoming. You can really feel that although the place used to operate under a different brand, it has successfully built its own fresh identity and it’s a fantastic transformation. The food was absolutely incredible. The burger was perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor, topped with crispy onion rings that added the perfect crunch. The fries were seasoned beautifully and served with a delicious, creamy sauce that paired perfectly. Everything was fresh, well-presented, and generously portioned. And of course, enjoying it with a cold beer made the experience even better! What truly made the visit exceptional was the service. Front manager Carlos is an amazing person, friendly, and genuinely attentive. He goes above and beyond to make guests feel welcome and taken care of. It’s rare to meet someone so dedicated and positive, he really elevates the whole dining experience. This place has definitely found its own path after separating from its previous brand, and it’s thriving. I will absolutely be coming back and recommending it to everyone!”
