About Horseshoe Inn
Horseshoe Inn is a bar at 611 Alcester Rd S in Birmingham, with a beer garden beside the canal. A pirate ship in the garden gives children a place to play, so a family can sit outside together. Inside, the main room hosts live bands, and sports are shown on screen. On the drinks side, the bar pours Stella Artois and Guinness Stout, and Newcastle Brown is sold too. The Cheese N Onion BAP is the menu item to pair with a pint.

Customer Review Summary
The beer garden beside the canal is what reviewers mention most, with one noting a pirate ship for children and several treating the pub as a stop on a canal walk. Beer earns praise, including Newcastle Brown on sale and a pint called spot on, and others mention live bands, sports on screen and a good crowd. Food divides opinion: one reviewer describes lovely meals in the garden, while another found no food served despite a menu online, and a third says only crisps, nuts and sandwiches. Low ratings cite dirty seats and a filthy interior, a rude barmaid, and coffee called nonsense, and one reviewer reports a smell of drugs from the grounds. One suggests popping in on a canal walk for a beer and a bag of peanuts.

“Was hoping to get a family meal here but seems they don't serve food at all. On the site there's a lovely menu so am very disappointed.”

“I like this pub, it's a proper old-school boozer without airs or graces. In this age of themed pubs and corporate branding it's really good to walk into somewhere that really probably hasn't changed in decades. I wouldn't say this is the place to go for a meal, but there's crisps, nuts and sandwiches. As I say, old school. If you're walking along the canal through King's Heath pop in for a beer and a bag of peanuts!”

“What a dirty pub this is We pop in after having a walk along the canal We ordered our drinks went to sit down couldn’t believe the state of the seats pure Dirt Then you look around and it all hits you The place is filthy Even the one bar staff looked like she’d been dragged though the mud Place needs a deep clean real deep clean On a good note the beer was spot on”

“Nice pub for a beer, can watch sports and has live bands in the main room. Sits along side the canal so nice stop off point on a walk or a good place to walk to and from in the summer”
