  “I have eaten here twice with my family and excellent both times - the quality of the food is beyond top-end pub, fresh, home-made and excellent with classics like pies, fish and chips alongside more original dishes and vegan/veggie options - home made puds were also delicious. Reasonable prices for the quality. Very friendly service, dog friendly (great snack, thanks!) large outside garden, good beers inc genuine Spanish Mahou rather than the ubiquitous fake Madri and local bitters/IPAs - highly recommended”

  “What a fantastic find! From the moment we arrived, we were given such a warm and friendly welcome by the staff, who made us feel at home straight away. The food was absolutely excellent, with generous portions and superb quality. A special mention has to go to the chips they were, without doubt, one of the best we’ve ever tasted! The staff were attentive throughout our visit, checking everything was to our satisfaction and offering excellent recommendations, which really enhanced our meal. We were lucky enough to dine in the beautiful garden, where the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, making for a perfect experience. Inside, the pub has a wonderfully quirky layout that’s full of character, exactly what you’d hope for from a traditional Cotswold pub. Every room seems to have its own charm. A brilliant meal, outstanding service, and a lovely setting. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Lion at Tredington and will definitely be returning.”

  “We came here for a fathers day get together, all travelling for approx 2 hours each side to meet 'in the middle' as it were. There were 6 adults and 4 children (one baby). Booked to sit in the garden room area, unfortunately was such a hot day it was a bit too much for one of our party who asked to sit outside which the staff were very accommodating and didn't seem to mind the upheaval of our party. Kids had a great time playing in the garden and meeting new friends there sharing toys etc. We all had around 2/3 courses each and had the roast diners and MY GOD they were AMAZING. I don't think I've had a better roast dinner anywhere, my hubby who is Gluten Free even got treated to GF gravy (and they said they do gluten free Yorkshires too, but he didn't tell them in advance of the GF so he didn't get one but he wasn't too bothered by this, but we did appreciated the offer as now we know for next time). The pub itself is beautifully decorated, with traditional small passageways which only added to the charm, the staff we met were lovely and (I didn't get his name) the young lad who served us was super pleasant and friendly and genuinely seemed to care that our party had a great time! Kids enjoyed some ice creams (in a cone, brilliant!) whilst running around and overall a really wonderful experience. Will definitely be re-visiting if we're in the area.”

  “Fabulous 2 day trip to the area with my wife. The Lion at Tredington is a lovely place to stay at . Fully recommended by us. Particular high praise to the attentive staff led from the front by the owner Mark. Nothing was much trouble and he went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. We had our evening meals both evenings at the Lion and the food was first class. Hats off to the chef and staff. Really highly recommended, we hope to return soon. Thanks for everything.”

  “This is my 2nd time here as my first time left such a good impression on me. I took my friend as we travelled from the Cotswolds up to Stratford. The food is excellent and the service 2nd to none. Mark is the most charming host and owner who has made his place contempory, quirky with a dab of olde worlde. Absolutely gorgeous. Will call again and again.”

  “I’ve just had Sunday lunch at The Lion, Tredington. I don’t think I can remember having such excellent service anywhere. We were greeted immediately on arrival and shown to our table. This is a lovely old pub with many original features preserved. Our waitress ensured we had all we needed and there was even a bottle of chilled tap water and glasses already on the table. Orders were taken for mains (we didn’t want starters) and not more than 10mins later (possible 5mins) the food arrived. All beautifully cooked and presented. We were all full and did not want deserts. We asked for the bill which arrived without delay. We settled and left. This only took about 45 mins. During this time the hostess had visited our table to check we were happy. She cleared away our plates. On leaving, we went through an excellent outdoor area with its own bar in a functions room. An excellent meal in excellent surroundings with excellent service- what more can I say - other than good accessible parking. I would definitely go again.”

  “Stopped on the way home from a trip near Bath for some lunch. The food was really delicious with a great range of options that went beyond standard pub grub without being over the top. I had the tastiest chicken Caesar salad I’ve ever had and you could tell the ingredients were really good quality. The barman and proprietor were both very welcoming. We ate inside but there is also an outdoor seating area. We will definitely visit again when passing through the Cotswolds.”

  “Mark and his team are very welcoming and friendly nothing is too much trouble, the rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable. Both breakfast and dinner were exceptional we would definitely recommend. Thank you for a lovely weekend x”

  “We came for lunch and it is exquisite. We had the veggie burger and the pie and they were just amazing...as was the Pims! I love this place. Its gorgeous decor, lovely staff and absolutely divine food... highly recommended!”
