  “Decor nice, rustic, petrified wood, clean, nice friendly, warm, welcoming, ordered sirloin steak, friend ordered Halloween burger. Skin on fries had nice taste, don't believe they were triple cooked as they were not crispy, blue cheese sauce and the garlic smokey orange sauce on the mushrooms complimented, steak cooked perfectly to taste and good quality, good seasoning too, lovely, chef is obviously experienced, for my taste salad with steak is not my preference, however it was garnished and had taste, so very little to complain about except the price, with sauce it comes a shade under 30, at 30 you can get a amazing steak from at some places, this was very good. For me, price should be about 23 with sauce included. Visit, you won't be disappointed.”

  “I've been to the Peacock twice recently, and had a very similar experience both times. Firstly, the location is excellent. Amazing views, ample car parking (just enter your car registration when you go in, it's hard to miss the tablet to add it), and the building is great. Very spacious inside and the tables aren't crowded together. Secondly, the food is fantastic! I'm coeliac and everything is very clearly marked on the menu, plus the staff are great with knowing what's what and if any changes are required. The onion rings are amazing, I mean how often do you get real nice crispy battered gluten free onion rings? Not often! There's a great choice and I feel most diets are very well catered for. Prices are pretty reasonable for what you get as well, none of us left feeling hungry. Now, the service. The staff are great, very friendly and helpful and it was no trouble getting a table. However, it's just awfully slow, and it wasn't really clear why. On both occasions we waited quite a while for the food - no problem, we had some drinks and we were chatting, don't mind that. But waiting for the bill was unbelievably slow, it took around half an hour to get the bill and pay which is really excessive when the place wasn't busy at all. It's a shame because it put a bit of a dampener on a very nice meal. I'm not one to write reviews to slate anywhere that's trying, I think we all understand sometimes it's just one of those days, but to have the same difficulty getting the bill and paying after a lovely meal twice within the space of around a month is quite unfortunate and I wanted to highlight this as it's likely to stop some people from returning to what is otherwise a great place to eat. I hope this can be improved because I'd love to come back!”

  “Not been here before and went for Sunday lunch. The staff are helpful and pleasant with no pressure. The food wasn't as good as expected and quite expensive a bit disappointing sadly as we were looking forward to the meal.”

  “Managed to book for Father’s Day at short notice which we were pleased about. Staff were pleasant and helpful. My daughter likes it there as she is coeliac and lactose intolerant and has never had a problem. We put this in the booking. We waited a long time to both order and for the food to arrive. When her burger meal came we checked and there was cheese on her burger. It was taken away and we were warned there would be a further delay. All the meals were then delayed. When they arrived, the ‘triple cooked’ chips were very brown and limp. The Sunday lunches were fine. Hopefully a one-off due to Father’s Day busyness. We’ll go again, but will avoid ordering chips.”
