About The White Swan
The White Swan is a traditional local pub at 57 Greenhill Main Rd in Sheffield, built around live entertainment rather than television. A weekly quiz night gives regulars and newcomers a team activity, and a singer performs live on stage during the week's schedule. There are no big sport screens, so background music is all that plays between those events. The kitchen prepares its food in house, with pub classics on the menu and deals on burgers and steak. Dogs are welcome, so owners can bring their pets along when they come in for a meal or the quiz.

Customer Review Summary
Most reviewers praise the food, with burgers and steak deals midweek singled out and a new chef's concise menu of old pub classics with a twist, all prepared in house. Diners call it delicious and spectacular, and one describes a Valentine's meal with fantastic service. Close behind is a friendly, welcoming feel, with the landlady's warm greeting, helpful staff and a core of regulars who make it a cozy, traditional local. A Sunday singer is described as entertaining and funny, though one reviewer warns it can get busy. Others like the lack of big sport screens, just background music, for a Saturday afternoon with family.

“Was once a vibrant pub under Claire and Lee but has gone massively downhill over the last few months, beginning with the scrapping of the popular Thursday entertainment. What was really a shot in the foot was binning off the very popular Tuesday Quizness and replacing it with a much worse version that turned many of the regular crowd away from the pub. These changes along with massive price hikes in beer (a Carling now costing £5) have turned this pub into an absolute morgue every night. Needs a serious change of direction and fast.”

“What a pleasant surprise. First time here, the food was spectacular and Carly the landlady gave a lovely, warm welcome. And with deals on burgers and steak midweek we'll be heading back.”
