About Boot & Shoe
Boot & Shoe is a pub in Pontefract at 20 Wakefield Rd, with live music or acts on in the afternoon and evening. The food menu centres on pizza, including a spicy pizza, and a pizza and a pint offer pairs it with a drink. Loaded fries, buffalo among them, are sized to share between two or three people, and chicken wraps sit alongside them on the menu. Dogs are welcome. There is no booking, so seating can take a while. Parking nearby can be difficult.

Customer Review Summary
Pizza is what most reviewers return for, described as crispy, light and fluffy, and a good size with lots of topping, with one diner who has spent time in Italy comparing it to real Italian pizza. Close behind are the loaded and buffalo fries, said to feed two or three people, along with chicken tenders, a chicken wrap, a huge sourdough wrap and a Sunday dinner with good portions. Several mention a warm, welcoming pub with a renovated look, tables inside and outside, and live acts, plus a pizza and pint deal that proved popular. Prices are called fair by one reviewer, while another finds the beer offer not cheap. Reviewers raise a few drawbacks. One says there is no booking, so seating may take some time, and one notes parking can be difficult. Another waited 15 minutes between the pizza and the fries and a further 10 for the tenders, though the staff apologised. The sharpest complaint describes a drink cleared from the table by mistake, after which a woman behind the bar refused to check and insisted the customers pay for another, so they left.

“We stumbled accross this as we wanted somthing quick. We had pizza, chicken wrap and some buffalo fries. All I can say is wow I was very impressed with service and food. The pizza was light and fluffy and about as close to real Italian pizza you will find. And having spent a lot of time in Italy I can assure you of this. The wrap was very good and tasty and the loaded fries are enough for 2 or 3 people. Will be back for sure”

“Great place to go. Pizza was delicious, crispy and tasty. Beer offer gives plenty of options, not cheap. Atmosphere is amazing, with tables inside and outside, if the weather allows it. No booking, so if you are lucky you are seated soon, but it might take some time.”

“Stopped here after a walk at Nostellw with the dogs. Welcoming staff, plenty of seating and had the sourdough wrap which came out huge! Very nice! Would definitely recommend”
