Customer Review Summary
Reviewers split on this pub, with friendly, quick service and a lively atmosphere drawing the most praise. Several describe welcoming staff who accommodated a large party, drinks served fast, bands most weekends and sports screens. A lamb kofta flatbread is called delicious, and one diner raves about the best latte. Food is where the negatives gather. Complaints include chips hard in the middle, a beef burger with freezer burn, fajita chicken that tasted like packaged sandwich meat, a medium rare steak that arrived well done, and orders missing chips or half a meal. Two reviewers say flies landed on their food because doors and windows were left open, and one reports guacamole that appeared to have sour cream mixed in. A few found staff unsmiling or rude. Smaller gripes include a mocktail without strawberry and an unmixed shandy. One vegetarian diner had a dish smothered in sauce, but it was quickly changed and came back lovely without the salsa.

“Come here often and they always leave the windows and doors wide open letting all the flies in to land on your food so instead of eating your food you’re too busy smacking the flies away. Asked for a medium rare steak came well done and by the time they made a new one just wasn’t hungry anymore as the flies were doing our head in. Won’t be coming her again as we don’t have this issue at any of the other pubs in the area.”

“Before food arrived we had to constantly bat away fly's, food arrived myself ordered chicken fajitas I can only describe the "chicken" as packaged sandwich meat with seasoning on tortillas hard and dry the only edible thing on the skillet was the fried onions and peppers the side serving of salsa guacamole and sour cream initially looked okay, on further inspection the gaucamole had sour cream mixed into the side of the serving pot either a pouring mistake or re used from prior customers! My partner had a mixed grill same issue with chicken, the sausage looked like it was straight out of if the fridge never cooked! Safe to say we left the full plates and will not be returning”

“Used to like this place but it’s gone down hill A LOT. Staff don’t smile. Food well, pretty dreadful. Our chips weren’t cooked at all. Most were hard in the middle and some completely inedible. My son had a beef burger and it clearly had freezer burn. Rock hard on the edges and cold in the middle. Ordinarily we would have sent it back however, it was a little late and the kitchen was only 5 mins off closing so didn’t. Won’t be back unfortunately.”

“Had a fantastic visit to the Singing Chocker. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was quick, friendly, and attentive throughout. The whole experience was enjoyable from start to finish. A special thank you to Cheryl and Lacey for their outstanding service and for making us feel so welcome. They are a real credit to the pub. Will definitely be returning and would highly recommend to others! 🍻😊”
