About Seco Lounge

Seco Lounge is an eclectic restaurant in Plymouth, set in Royal William Yard with a view of the harbour. The menu runs to tapas, plant-based burgers with fries and gluten-free fried chicken, and it includes a gluten-free menu alongside a vegetarian and vegan lineup. Orders go in by QR code from the table or through an app, so guests can order without leaving their seats. Board games are on hand for groups who want to linger over a meal, and a quiz night brings an organised evening event to the room. A back room gives extra space for eating and drinking.

Customer Review Summary

Tapas are the most repeated draw at this Royal William Yard lounge, with reviewers praising the crispy bites and dipping sauces and calling them well presented and flavourful. Close behind are the vegan and gluten-free options, including plant based burgers with fries, a shakshuka with added avocado, and vegan cake with coffee, and one diner notes staff knew the gluten-free menu well. The outdoor seating gets credit for its view of the water, and the staff are described as friendly and helpful, including with a family ordering only soft drinks and jelly beans. Ordering is where the complaints sit. One reviewer found the QR code failed for the whole party, forcing them to retype a large order at the bar, then was told of a food delay, and also found the gluten-free fried chicken quite soft. Another says orders took quite some time to arrive, while others praise ordering by app or QR code and quick delivery. A pink lemonade is a small detail one visitor remembers.

“A fantastic spot for top-notch veggie & vegan eats! As someone who looks for halal options, finding dedicated spots nearby can sometimes be a bit limited, but Seco Lounge at Royal William Yard is such a gem of an alternative! The vegetarian and vegan lineup here is seriously impressive. We tried a mix of their tapas (the crispy bites and dipping sauces are amazing) and plant based burgers with fries, and every single dish was bursting with flavour. You definitely don't feel like you're missing out on anything. Great atmosphere right by the water, friendly service, and a super relaxed vibe. Highly recommended whether you're sticking to plant-based options or just looking for a tasty, worry free meal with friends!”

“Mostly great food (gf fried chicken was quite soft) but incredibly frustrating ordering experience. The qr code we were told to use didn't work (for anyone in our party) so had to order at the bar. It's really quite irritating to have to input a large order in your phone and have to do it again at the bar. Just after ordering someone came to tell us there was going to be a delay to the food, again, frustrating. A few other bits added to make it slightly annoying. I don't mind utilising tech to help ordering but it's annoying when it doesn't work.”

“Lovely place. Order on the app and the food arrives quickly and cooked to perfection The back room is a really nice place to eat and drink. Like all lounges in this chain the styling is very eclectic and interesting This time I had shakshuka with some added avocado. Which was delicious and a good portion Great place, great food and situated in the lovely Williams Yard”

“Had a lovely meal here with the family for my mums 80th. We got there sort of mid afternoon during the week. So it was fairly quiet which suited us perfectly. The crew on shift at that time were lovely & polite & provided a very quick service... Thank you all ☺️”

“Beautiful dinner to enjoy almost every meal, we stopped for post breakfast vegan cake and more coffee. Loved it and hope to have some savoury snacks next time. Not forget busy and relaxed vibe at the same time.”
