Customer Review Summary
Pastries from the in-house bakery draw the strongest praise, with the maple pecan croissant singled out as the best of several tried, followed by the lotus cookie. A huge iced cinnamon bun and a fudge chocolate brownie are also taken away for later. Close behind are the brunch plates: a pastrami bagel, the EB stack of egg, bacon, sausage and hash brown on brioche, Turkish eggs, a breakfast bap and the hashbrowns. Reviewers mention big portions and quick, friendly service. The main complaint is the service charge added and paid before the meal, which two reviewers dislike, though another counts paying upfront as a bonus. Others found the sweetcorn fritters doughy rather than crispy, a breakfast bagel dry without sauce, the matcha rough, and the coffees tiny. One felt the Turkish eggs had too much liquid. One reviewer suggests arriving early to avoid the queue, and another closes the meal on a little skillet of haribo eggs served at the end.

“We went there and had the breakfast which was nicely cooked and came on a hot plate. With thick sliced artisan bread and butter. We had a nice cappuccino with it, but the cost was £18 per head. Which I thought was a little expensive”

“Really don’t like paying a service charge before I have even eaten anything or paying as soon as I have chosen my food. Personally did not like the Sweetcorn fritters as fritters implies fried crispy these are definately not, more pancake doughy unpleasant texture. Whilst the portion was big and the presentation lovely I did not enjoy the mush and left most of it. My friend had the Salmon brioche and again great portion and presentation. We both felt the sauce should be separate as once’s you began to eat everythung just tasted if the sauce as it mixed in with every mouthful. Lovely thoughtful staff and ambience. Gods menu and would return to try other things.”

“Best breakfast place I have been. Cakes and sweet treats from the bakery just as good if not better. Reasonably priced, you get what you pay for and is great food. It’s pay when you order your food + drinks not at the end. Which I think is a bonus”

“Was looking for somewhere different for lunch in Plymouth and came across this lovely place online. It didn't disappoint. Got a lovely, friendly welcome in the bakery downstairs. They radio up to the cafe and then send you up when there's a table (no booking here). We only waited a couple of minutes. Really buzzy, bright cafe and bar upstairs and you can see into the kitchen which I like. Smiley waitress who gave us time to check the menu before ordering. I had a pastrami, cheese, pickles, mayo and caper bagel filled to the max and my other half had the EB stack - egg, bacon, sausage and hash brown on a massive piece of brioche with lots of maple syrup on the side. All absolutely delicious. We finished off with grabbing takeaway cake from the bakery for later - huge iced cinnamon bun and fudge chocolate brownie. We'll definitely be back!”
