Customer Review Summary
Sushi and sashimi draw the most praise, with diners singling out fresh salmon, tuna, shrimp and yellowtail at the sushi bar, plus soft crab sushi. Close behind are the spicy edamame, named by two reviewers, along with panko pork balls, duck spring rolls and a chocolate lava cake that one regular orders nearly every visit. Cocktails come up repeatedly as delicious, including a clover club, and one reviewer says the drinks paired nicely with the food. Service is described as friendly, attentive and never rushed, and one server is called knowledgeable about the menu. The criticism is limited. One reviewer found the chicken teriyaki bowl with rice underwhelming next to the sushi and desserts, and another says the meal is not cheap. Several came to celebrate, and the team has brought out a birthday sorbet and desserts with Happy anniversary written in chocolate.

“A trip to Plymouth is not complete without a visit to KuKu! I always try to squeeze in a visit to KuKu when I am in the area, this time solo but often with colleagues. Fab menu - great everything really! I can honestly say I have enjoyed every, and there have been a few over the years, visit. Keep up the good work and I look forward to the next visit.”

“Had a great meal at KuKu. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, with a modern design that feels relaxed without being too loud. Sitting by the sushi bar was a great experience, and it was fun watching everything being prepared. The sashimi was the highlight of the meal. Everything tasted fresh, and the presentation was beautiful without feeling overdone. The salmon, tuna, shrimp, and yellowtail were all excellent, and the pickled ginger and wasabi were fresh as well. The drinks were also well made and paired nicely with the food. The service was friendly, attentive, and never rushed us. Overall, it was a really enjoyable dining experience from start to finish. I'd definitely come back the next time I'm in the area.”

“The food was incredible. Ate the whole lot without rice, and my tongue is now legally classified as the Dead Sea. The men’s toilet is hidden like it’s an unlockable achievement or as the greeks would call it the hidden goat path And just when I thought the night couldn’t get better, my friend’s dad paid the bill. I highly recommend someone else’s wallet—it pairs perfectly with the food.”
