About Banana Tree Oxford

Banana Tree Oxford is a Pan-Asian restaurant on George Street, with a bar pouring cocktail specials including a 2-for-1 deal. The menu spans banana tree curry, Pad Thai, Singapore noodles, and Banana Tree special spicy noodles, alongside duck pancakes, spring rolls, chicken dumplings, ramen chicken, chicken skewers, barbecue wings, and Mekong prawns. Halal options run throughout the menu, including a katsu curry burger available in both chicken and vegetarian versions. Bench seating accommodates larger groups of five or more, and table service continues throughout the meal. A kids menu offers meals such as meats with rice and cucumber sticks, and kids eat free on Sundays. Noise levels stay moderate enough for conversation. The room carries an industrial-chic look throughout.

Customer Review Summary

Pad Thai draws the most praise, described repeatedly as flavorful with well-separated noodles and non-rubbery prawns, and served warm alongside other dishes. Close behind, diners single out the noodle dishes generally, the Banana Tree special spicy noodles and Singapore noodles, along with the laksa with chicken, which one reviewer says arrived in generous portions and cleared their congestion. Also mentioned often are the katsu curry burger, barbecue wings, Mekong prawns, and cocktails, including a 2 for 1 deal several call good value. Staff across visits are called friendly and helpful, often recommending dishes. One visit noted the floor was short staffed, with water forgotten multiple times for a table, though the servers were still described as attentive and enthusiastic despite it. Reviewers repeatedly frame the restaurant as good for families and groups, citing bench seating for larger parties and a kids' menu with real meals rather than just snacks.

“Had such a great meal at Banana Tree! We started with the Strawberry mocktails, which were really refreshing, along with the Barbecue wings and the Mekong prawns, and everything was full of flavour. For mains, we had the Banana Tree special spicy noodles and the Singapore noodles, and both dishes were so good. The noodles were packed with flavour, really well cooked, and had just the right level of spice. The atmosphere was lovely and the service was excellent throughout. Sandip was helpful and really friendly!! Thank you, would definitely come back again!”
