Customer Review Summary
Birthday and celebration meals anchor the reviews, with diners describing a lovely, friendly evening and dessert as a highlight. One reviewer was brought a chocolate profiterole with a candle after mentioning a birthday, and another received a birthday dessert box. Food draws consistent praise: the Shepherd's pie, Korean glazed chicken salad described as warm and comforting, salt and pepper squid, arancini and ribeye steaks, plus a jackfruit bang bang salad that eased one vegetarian's worry. Staff are repeatedly called attentive and friendly. Complaints are smaller but specific. One diner waited a long time for the main course and the bill, another wanted a full breakfast option on the adults' menu at the Easter Bunny experience, and one found vegetarian mains limited. A solo diner was told there was no table despite many empty ones and was seated at the bar, where a man in a suit had attitude, while another found the man on the door unfriendly. One birthday diner left with two candled desserts.

“I had such a lovely experience at The Ivy. I celebrated my 21st birthday here, and everything was wonderful from start to finish. The ambience was beautiful and made the evening feel especially memorable. The cocktails were lovely, the main course was absolutely delicious, and the dessert was definitely the highlight of the evening. A beautiful place for a special occasion, and I would happily visit again. ✨🥂”

“The food is excellent. I ordered Korean glazed chicken salad. Surprisingly, it’s not typical cold North American cold salad. It’s warm, tasty and very comforting. The service, however, is underwhelming. In spite of seeing many empty tables, the host told me there was no table so I had to be seated at the bar. Now thinking back, it probably is because I was by myself. The man in suits at the bar has a lot of attitude for no reason. The only nice guy was the black dude working at the bar who took my order . Overall it’s a very nice place for a meal, last but not least, the women s washroom is also impressively decorated.”

“Came here to Ivy Oxford for a celebratory meal and while it is more expensive than a normal eat, it's very much worth the extra for the ambience and attentive service. The food is traditional and classic, plenty of it in the portion. Could be more selection on the menu and it might not be perfect for those on low carb diets but I had the Shepheards' Pie and it was lush! Service was a bit slow delivering the bill and we waited quite a long time for the main course but otherwise no complaints and we will be back.”

“During our day trip to Oxford from London, we had lunch at The Ivy Oxford Brasserie, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our visit. We were two couples with our children, a party of six, and had reserved a table in advance. From the outside, the restaurant looks quite modest and doesn’t immediately stand out, but the moment you step inside, you’re completely amazed. The interior is absolutely stunning—lush green décor, beautiful artwork, elegant details, sparkling finishes, and a luxurious atmosphere that feels both stylish and welcoming. Everything was impeccably clean and beautifully maintained, from the bar and dining area to even the restrooms. Every corner of the restaurant was a pleasure to look at. The food was equally impressive. We ordered a selection of starters, main courses, desserts, and tea, and every single dish was delicious and beautifully presented. What truly made our experience exceptional was the outstanding service. The teamwork between the waitstaff was flawless. All of our dishes were served simultaneously, despite our larger group, and drinks arrived perfectly timed as well. We especially appreciated how attentive the staff were—they quietly kept an eye on our table and refilled our wine and Prosecco without us ever having to ask. Empty plates disappeared almost instantly, and everything was handled with professionalism, warmth, and genuine care. The Ivy Oxford Brasserie is truly one of Oxford’s gems. If you’re visiting Oxford for a day to explore its famous colleges and attractions, I highly recommend making time for lunch here. It’s an experience that’s about much more than just great food. A huge thank you to the entire team for making our visit so memorable. We will definitely return the next time we’re in Oxford!”

“Enjoyed a lovely birthday lunch at The Ivy during the heatwave. Thank heavens for air conditioning! Delicious food, great ambiance and attentive staff. We had salt and pepper squid, arancini rice balls, ribeye steaks and birthday dessert box - all of which were fabulous. Will be back to try the cream tea.”
