About The Britannia
Cooked breakfasts run alongside the drinks at The Britannia, a pub on Hollins Rd in Oldham. Plates arrive with bacon, hash browns, eggs and sausages, and the mega breakfast can be built up further with spam and black pudding added on. Beyond the morning trade, it works as a traditional local with a wide range of drinks and football shown on the screens. The calendar brings entertainment nights, from karaoke and quizzes to live music and discos. Ordering through Uber Eats covers delivery and takeaway for anyone eating at home, and outdoor seating gives drinkers and diners the option of a table outside. A step-free entrance means visitors with mobility needs can get in without a threshold to negotiate. Tables are taken on a walk-in basis rather than by reservation, and the doors open daily.

Customer Review Summary
The full English is what reviewers talk about most, and they split sharply over it. Several praise proper traditional breakfasts as good value, one ordering the mega breakfast, and the pub itself draws steady warmth for live music, discos, karaoke, quiz nights and football shown on the screens, with the owners and staff repeatedly called lovely and friendly and the drinks range described as wide. Against that, a run of orders placed through a delivery app draws blunt criticism: multiple customers describe breakfasts swimming in grease, with bacon saturated in oil, a hash brown gone so soggy it fell apart, hard eggs and sausages they judged low quality, and one order arriving on the cold side after a long wait. One reviewer calls the place a bit run down and flags two steps up to the ladies' toilets. Another paid extra for spam and black pudding, received neither on two breakfasts, and was given no refund.

“Great local pub serving nice food and wide range of drinks. Shows football and has quiz and karaoke nights.”

“Ordered on uber eats, food was genuinely disgusting, my breakfast was drenched in grease. I’ve never seen a sad deflated sloppy hash brown before i couldn’t decide if had simply been microwaved or had been soaked in water. Please for the love of god do not order from this place there’s plenty of great cafes near by. - hungover fat bloke”

“A Hidden Gem off Kensington High Street Tucked away at 1 Allen Street, Kensington W8, The Britannia is a traditional pub with a strong reputation for British and European cuisine, cask ales, and friendly service. Menu Highlights British staples: fish & chips, pies, roasts, and scotch eggs. European influences: seasonal specials and lighter plates. Drinks: wide selection of beers, wines, and cocktails. Vegetarian options: clearly marked, making it inclusive.”

“The food itself was good! Really I ordered 2 mega breakfasts only thing is i ordered spam as extra and didnt recieve it. So my spam on both breakfasts was missing and also the black pudding! Yet i ordered on uber and they dont give any refund for missing items even tho i paid extra n got nothing. Its a shame because of this i wont be ordering again clearly the staff take no notice of peoples order”

“I don't usually leave reviews but this was the worst breakfast I have ever ordered. It was done via Uber Eats so I didn't actually go into the cafe but I have left a 1 star review for the atmosphere because the atmosphere in my house after receiving such a poor quality breakfast was measurable. I waited much longer than the expected time but I get that it is a Sunday and there are probably a lot of hungover people about, dying for a full English. As soon as I opened the container I could see the oil! It was not far off a full swimming pool full. The bacon was hard and totally saturated in cooking oil. I had to put kitchen role on them to soak up and get rid of the grease. The hash brown that been having a dip in this swimming pool of oil was so soggy because of it, it fell a part and was unedable. The eggs were hard and the sausages are very low quality. I tried a little bit of it but as well as all of that and it being on the cold side I decided to just leave it and order something else. I definitely do NOT recommend. They clearly don't care about the quality of food they are serving.”

How this listing is sourced
- Where the data comes from
- Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
- How it stays current
- Listings are re-checked in batches against their public profile, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
- How it is ranked
- Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
