Customer Review Summary

Sunday roast draws the most praise, with diners calling the beef and roasties "spot on" and perfect. Close behind are the minted lamb special, the fish and chips, the chicken burger and strawberry tarts at dessert, described as divine. Reviewers mention huge portions, a big menu and a good selection of beers on tap, and one notes the pub is dog friendly. Staff and owners come up repeatedly as friendly and welcoming, and several describe the atmosphere as lovely. One returning customer says everything has gone back to the standard it used to be. One reviewer finds meals not budget friendly but says you get what you pay for, and another says booking may be needed. The one clearly negative account describes a son's burger arriving with melted cheese after being asked three times to leave it off, and a side of chips that never came but still appeared on the bill, with the landlord offering no apology.

“Said 3 times that my son doesn't want cheese on his burger and it turned up with melted cheese on his burger. I also asked for a side chips with the first waiter....I waited for ages and when the owner/landlord turned up I reminded him of the chips....he didn't apologise and just said okay. He never brought it! Got my bill and the chips was on it! I've been going there loads of times over the years and this was the worse service we ever received there and the worst bit is it wasn't even busy! That place will never see us again!”

“Absolutely beautiful area for the pubs location! The staff were all friendly and the owner/manager was amazing as he has always been! Since I started coming here with my grandparents over 10 years ago! The food never fails to disappoint me at all, portions are huge and a massive menu, with lots to choose! We had the fish & chips and the chicken burger! Both of them, fantastic! The only downside, is that it’s not budget friendly as most meals start at around £15-£16, but you are getting what you pay for, so order big if you are starving! 🤣💙”
