About The Gardeners Arms
The Gardeners Arms is a pub in Manchester on Moston Ln, housed in a red brick building that once served as both a pub and a hotel for locals and visiting traders. Customer Review Summary
The caveat is the crowd and the bar. One reviewer felt the clientele let down an otherwise nice pub and did not fit in, while another found the bar staff very rude and in need of lightening up, though that same review called the customers welcoming. One visitor during lockdown also objected that most customers ignored mask rules. Even so, one reviewer left describing a friendly family atmosphere.

“Cycling from Bolton today to meet a friend, got to Moston and phone/gps died, had no idea which way to go, none of the local shops would help me …. Went to the Gardeners ….. lovely welcome, lent me a charger, made me a coffee, help with directions to meet my friend. Thankyou so much!! Not sure what I would have done otherwise.”

Highlights
“The Gardiners Arms has a rich history tied to the development of Moston. Moston Lane began as a collection of lanes and farm tracks, evolving over time into the road we know today. In the 19th century, Moston was primarily farmland, but silk weaving was a significant part of the local economy. The area saw a transformation from agricultural land to a more urban setting, with various trades and industries emerging. The Gardiners Arms grand iconic red brick building was once a pub and hotel, supporting the hard working locals and visiting traders. Today The Gardiners Arms still supports the locals as a community hub, offering live sports and entertainment. The pub offers a great selection of JW Lees cask ales and award-winning lagers.”
