Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the friendly, helpful staff, with one describing a server who went above and beyond and others praising quick service from plenty of bar staff. The burger comes up most among dishes, one calling the beefburger cooked to perfection and another pairing a burger deal with Sunday lunch, while basket meals are described as fresh. Drinks draw praise for a good selection and reasonable pricing, and one reviewer was pleased to find Titanic Plum Porter in decent condition. A weekly Wednesday quiz night and regular events add to a friendly, mature crowd, and the owner is described as making visitors feel like they were drinking in his home. The food draws the sharpest criticism: one reviewer found it bland, stodgy and greasy, and another harsh review called the vibe dreadful and the staff rude. Smaller complaints note the room is small and loud with children and no music. Several mention new owners or tenants reviving the pub, with Sunday roasts and a new menu on the way.

“Great pub, on my visit there was a popular quiz night taking place (every Wednesday 8 until 10pm). The crowd were friendly and mature making a good vibe. There were plenty of bar staff so service was quick and price of drinks average for the area.”

“Wonderful staff so friendly and helpful 😀”

“The vibe here is just dreadful, like seriously, the worst. The people working there are beyond rude, and don't even get me started on the service – it's a disaster. They spend more time chatting about customers behind their backs than actually helping out. Just an all-around unpleasant experience, to be honest. Just go to the pub next door. Better service and outdoor experience there!”

“Lovely friendly staff and some great events and entertainment regularly Every drink is very reasonably priced ( coors £4.10, cider £4.00 Ale £3.50) and the new menu very good value for money New tenants trying very hard to revive this much loved pub”

“Lovely little pub, nice atmosphere and good selection of drinks. Reasonably priced too. Served by Faith, lovely service from her, very helpful and cheery, she went above and beyond! Only issue was it was a bit loud with children and no music”
