About The Old Vineyard Coffee Shop
A pick-your-own dahlia field sits alongside The Old Vineyard Coffee Shop, a family-run cafe on The Old Vineyard in Norwich, where stems are charged individually and visitors are asked to bring their own scissors. The counter turns out sausage rolls, pastries and cakes, with scones in ginger and Bakewell versions, plus smash burger patties with fries and soups on the wider menu of 27 dishes. Coffees, lattes, tea, hot chocolate and cold drinks are joined by alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. Dogs are welcome both inside and in the garden, with water bowl stations set out for them. The garden holds flowers, and cut flowers are sold to take away. Service runs on a walk-in basis, and weekends can get busy. The cafe closes Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and opens the rest of the week. Parking is plentiful, and events run through the year, among them a beer and flower festival.

Customer Review Summary
Sausage rolls and scones come up most often, with reviewers calling the sausage rolls freshly made and impressive and the scones hearty, including a ginger scone described as delicious and a Bakewell scone. Close behind are the carrot cake and the lattes, which one reviewer rated excellent, and one diner praises smash burger patties with fries as proper food. Service is repeatedly called friendly and welcoming, and several mention that dogs are welcome inside and out. Many visitors also come for the dahlia field next door, picking stems and enjoying the colours, with one suggesting bringing scissors because the stems are strong. The main caveat is crowding. One reviewer notes the staff were friendly but visibly overwhelmed by the volume of orders, and another says the busy day made the large car park necessary. One cyclist's visit ended with prompt service and a good selection of cake.

“Really lovely atmosphere, came here with my partner, her sister and baby was really nice. Service is lovely and as a treat had fantastic smash burger patties with fries on. Selection of coffees, alcoholic and non alcholic beverages to chose from along side food like soups and pastry items and burgers ( not sure if limited time on the burgers but genuinely delicious proper food!) staff always helpful and kind as I have been a couple of times and always welcoming. Couldn't recommend more for just a nice relaxed little meal and drink. They also have the garden area with flowers I think at different times of the year and I think even sell them too for enthusiastic gardeners. Worth a visit thanks!”

“Amazing place in what appears to be an undiscovered part of Norfolk. Passed a steam museum on the way here and a “Tank museum “ going home. Plenty of parking, dog 🐶 friendly, people friendly and a great place to go. Super clean toilets with toilet related humour! The food 🍲 was first rate and the carrot 🍰 cake excellent! Shoutout to Aaron who made it. A genuine 💎 gem of a cafe. Loved It!”

“Four for coffees and snacks. Impressive sausage rolls. Good and hearty scones. Dogs happily accommodated (though we didn't have any!). Relaxed and happy time. We all four want to go back...and that doesn't happen too often.”
