Customer Review Summary

The complaints are specific. One reviewer had to eat a sausage roll cold because staff were not allowed to heat it, and another found some tables not clean. One calls the scone the densest they have eaten, too sweet and powdery, and the room very noisy. A further reviewer finds the offering poor for such an important tourist destination, with only a heating cabinet for equipment, though they praise the roll and cakes and the staff doing their best.

“Bread Source is honestly my favourite café The coffee is always lovely the pastries are dangerously good and the whole place feels warm and welcoming It's one of those places where I say I'm only going in for a coffee and somehow end up having a pastry or two The staff are always friendly the quality is always consistent and it's become my weekly favourite little treat spot Highly recommend!”

“Worths a visit after exploring the cathedral to have decent coffee in a historical atmosphere.”
  • Patrick Ayre
“This venue offers very good quality food and drink in Norwich Cathedral. Whilst the roll and cakes are all impressive, this is, in my opinion, a rather poor offering for such an important tourist destination. I attribute no blame whatsoever to the franchise running the cafe, who do their very best with the facilities available. Rather, I blame the cathedral for wasting this opportunity. It would seem that the authorities have invested very heavily in building an ultra-modern refectory building but have forgotten what the purpose of a refectory is and have finished up with what us little more than a fast food van scaled up massively. As far as I could see, the only culinary equipment available is a heating cabinet.”
  • Lesley Carway
“Very noisy inside the cafeteria, and the densest scone I’ve ever eaten, too sweet and with a powdery texture, I would have been ashamed to offer something like that. Perhaps check the batches before sale. Without loading in butter it would have been inedible.”
  • Case Italiane
“Stopped for breakfast and at 8:30 on a Saturday it was already lively. Very bright interior with views of the cathedral steeple and great selection of savoury and sweet pastries and good coffee. Friendly staff”
