Customer Review Summary
Cake draws the most consistent praise, with reviewers repeatedly calling out a classic sponge cake served with a small jug of pouring cream as a favorite, alongside breakfast items and a cappuccino singled out as "spot on." Close behind, staff are described again and again as friendly, helpful, and welcoming, and the outdoor seating, including beach hut style tables, and the clean toilets get frequent mentions. Most visits describe quick, warm service and good-sized portions at fair prices, with several reviewers saying they return whenever they're in the area. One notable exception: a reviewer with a well behaved dog says they were told dogs were not allowed inside the cafe despite the venue presenting itself as dog friendly, and they left after being offered only outdoor seating for their drinks. Aside from that account, the recurring closing note across reviews is a return visit prompted by the cake and cream pairing enjoyed after a walk on the nearby beach.

“Really lovely cafe very near to the beach. Breakfast was great. Cappucino was spot on. Attentive and friendly staff. Free car park. Lots of tables to sit outside. Would definitely recommend.”

“We LOVE smallsticks! Perfect pit stop after a long walk on the beach, breakfast and cake served and both are fantastic!”

“My wife and I visited on cold and rainy day with our well behaved dog. There was only one other person in the cafe but we were told "no dogs in the cafe, but you can take our drinks outside". This is not dog friendly, so we voted with our feet and left. We understand that not everyone likes dogs, but don't describe yourselves as dog friendly, when you're not.”

“Absolutely love it at Smallsticks - it's always really busy whenever we go. This latest visit we both had cake; I love the Victoria sponge and for just a little bit more I get a small jug of pouring cream to go with it, it is delicious! The staff are brilliant, really friendly and helpful and we will always do our best to visit whenever we're holidaying in Norfolk 😁”
