Quick info
About The Chippy
The Chippy is a fish and chips takeaway in Newquay, at 10 Station Parade. The kitchen fries its fish and chips in beef dripping, and the fish comes as either haddock or cod. Pea fritters and potato scallops sit on the menu next to the fish, giving orders a choice beyond the standard portion. Curry sauce and gravy are both on the menu for those who want a sauce with their chips. Scraps are also available to add to fish and chips.

Customer Review Summary
The complaints are small but specific. One diner found the pea fritters bland, and the same order left out the chips until they went back to ask. Another who needed vegetable oil for dietary reasons later found it was no longer offered, leaving only beef dripping.

“Really enjoyed my chips and cod bites from the kids menu and was just enough. Great service and quick cook time. Highly recommended.”

“Genuinely the flakiest, tastiest, cod and chips I’ve ever eaten. Absolutely superb.”

“By far the best Haddock & Chips with scraps, I have had in the South West since moving down here from Yorkshire, seven years ago. Hallelujah, an old fashioned chippy, that cooks in beef dripping, just how the best fish & chips are meant to be enjoyed. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You will definitely be seeing us again.”

“Visiting Newquay for a few days and decided last minute this evening that we fancied a cod & chips local to our lodgings. Checked out the Google reviews and choose you based on this. We walked in about 15 minutes to closing and were served 3 fresh cod and chips 😃which did not dissapoint. We are a foodie family and were very pleased, crispy cod, nice chips and not greasy or too salty! Simply perfect 👌thank you so much.”

“I’ve done it. I’ve found the chippy. Not a chippy. Not a good chippy. The Chippy. You know when people say “best in the world” and you politely nod while thinking “yeah alright mate”? This is not that. This is the one that makes you question every other fish and chips you’ve ever eaten and wonder why you’ve been wasting your life. The fish? Crispy on the outside, soft and flaky inside, like it’s been personally blessed by Poseidon. The chips? Golden, fluffy perfection. The kind that make you keep eating long after you’re full because stopping would be disrespectful. The whole experience? Life-altering. Honestly, if aliens landed and asked for the pinnacle of British culture, I wouldn’t send them to Buckingham Palace. I’d send them here. If you’re not eating from The Chippy, what are you even doing? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (would give 6 if I could)”
