About Midsummer Tap Milton Keynes
Midsummer Tap Milton Keynes is a craft beer and sports pub at 1 Savoy Cres in the Theatre district, formerly the Slug & Lettuce. The pub shows live sport, including the Champions League final and boxing, and match nights get busy. The food menu is new and includes a smash burger and coated chicken wings, with sharer dishes for tables that want to split plates. Orders go through the bar or a QR code system, and cocktails are served at the bar alongside the beer. Bottomless brunch is also on offer, with a festive version for the season.
Good to know
“This is a busy City Centre pub serving the renowned Theatre district in Central Milton Keynes. Previously called Slug & Lettuce it now describes itself as a craft beer and sports pub. It forms part of the vibrant night life within the Theatre district along with many night clubs and mainly big chain restaurants. It often has events around major sporting fixtures such as the rugby world cup. As it is a large pub it can accommodate many people but even then it can be very full during the weekends.”

Customer Review Summary
Bottomless brunch is the main draw, with reviewers calling the menu extensive and good value, the food quick and tasty, and the drinks fast. Close behind, diners praise friendly floor staff who kept them updated and, in one case, remembered a drinks order every time during a busy Saturday night. The new smash burger and coated chicken wings get specific mentions, along with a sharer and a customised kiddie burger. Sports screenings, including the champions league final and boxing, add to the atmosphere, though a few note it gets very busy and service slows. The sharpest complaint comes from one bank holiday Saturday visitor who had trouble with the QR code ordering, found much of the food they wanted off the menu, and described bar service as dismissive. That reviewer waited about 30 minutes for drinks and found the food dry and bland, while still crediting the floor team. Another reviewer's pre-match Facebook enquiry was answered, and on arrival they were offered a table after a cancellation.

“Amazing experience! We were in town visiting and wanted to watch a sporting match - reached out via Facebook and they responded with the information we needed. Then we showed up early, Chad welcomed us in, and then let us know there was a cancellation, and offered us a table! In an age of posts with no replies and impersonal pub experiences-this was so fun and such a great experience!! Thanks for the welcome.”

“We came in for a bottomless brunch and had such a good time! Our waiter Chad was so on it and had such good energy. The menu for the bottomless brunch was definitely the most extensive and best value for money that I’ve seen. The food was quick and really tasty and all of our drinks came out super fast too. The atmosphere was really good but it did get very busy in the evening as they show sports and it was the champions league final.”
