About The Plough
The Plough is a canalside pub in Milton Keynes at 151 Simpson Rd, with moorings directly outside and a garden of tables beside the water. Boaters coming off the canal can walk in, though a seat can be hard to find when the pub is busy. The kitchen cooks seasonal British food, including a sharing roast of beef, pork and lamb. Dogs are welcome in the bar but not in the restaurant. The Plough is a sister pub of the Cross Keys in Woolstone.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the food, with a sharing roast of beef, pork and lamb, fish and chips, and a very large gammon portion all named. Lamb skewers are called out of this world, and one diner suggests the blue cheese sauce with steak. Close behind is the service, described as friendly and helpful, along with cocktails from the bar and a good beer selection. The canal setting draws boaters, who mention moorings outside and a well kept garden. Dogs are allowed in the bar but not the restaurant. Complaints are mild. The outside looks tired, the menu is called a little fussy, the gammon was saltier than usual, and the roast could have used serving spoons. The interior is described as cosy but a little cramped, with one reviewer expecting trouble getting seated at busy times. A Monday evening pub quiz is called great fun. One reviewer recalls the bartender and chef bringing fans to cool diners on one of the hottest days of June.

“Fiamasco was our server this evening and can I say what a credit he is. Very polite and a lovely gentleman. The food was divine and if you’re having steak I’d definitely recommend the blue cheese sauce with it. A very lovely evening thank you to all the lovely staff ☺️”

“Had a really nice roast here today after passing on the canal. We had a sharing roast with beef pork and lamb. All was good, spuds were excellent. If I had to pick holes, maybe it didn't need red and green cabbage ( perhaps a different veg ) , and a couple of serving Spoons would have helped greatly. That's not to take away from the fact that it was a really good meal, which is shown by the full restaurant. Thank you very much to all at the Plough for fitting us in as a walk in ( from the canal ) A bonus is they have moorings directly outside !!!”
