About Rudy's Pizza Napoletana - Ancoats

Rudy's Pizza Napoletana - Ancoats is a Neapolitan restaurant in Manchester at 9 Cotton St, built around pizza made from dough prepared on site each day. That dough ferments twice over 24 hours and spends just 60 seconds in the oven, producing a thin, crispy crust. The Carni pizza comes with garlic alioli and hot honey, and burrata can be ordered as a side or added as an extra topping on a pizza. To drink, the menu includes spritz cocktails, among them a cloudy apple and cherry spritz. Guests join an online queue for a table.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often point to the pizza itself, with a light, thin and crispy Neapolitan base and the triple pepperoni named as a favourite. Close behind is the garlic bread starter, called indulgent and cheesy, alongside a burrata, a Carni pizza with garlic alioli and hot honey, and a Capricciosa. The cloudy apple and cherry spritz and the tiramisu also get a mention. Service draws repeated praise, with servers described as friendly and attentive, food arriving quickly, and a hostess who remembered a diner's name after the online queue. The main complaint comes from one reviewer who found the pizzas covered in mostly tomato sauce with very few toppings for the price, and who disliked that the pizzas are bigger than the plates. Another reviewer describes a server bringing tiramisu to takeaway after learning it was an anniversary.

“Great little place that is nicely hidden away from the buzz of the city, with fantastic food and service. The pizza was delicious - nice thin and crispy base like the real Italians do - with great toppings. Service was fantastic and friendly. Sat outside for a bit while enjoying the atmosphere and the food and drink. Very reasonable prices too.”

“Amazing experience, I will be back! Everyone is so friendly, from the hostess/waitress remembering my name when returning from the online queue to my waiter Ewan providing attentive personal service- Ewan you’re a legend, thank you! On top of this the food is like I’ve never had before, I loved every mouthful.”

“I ordered a pizza with capers, anchovies and extra burrata, and it was absolutely outstanding. The dough was beautifully light with the perfect Neapolitan crust, the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh, and the creamy burrata took it to another level. Every bite was balanced and full of flavour. It’s easy to understand why Rudy’s has such an excellent reputation. If you’re looking for authentic Neapolitan pizza in Manchester, this is definitely a place to visit. I’ll certainly be back! This was the best Pizza i have Ever had👌🏻👌🏻”

“One of the best pizzas I’ve eaten in quite a while. The dough is quite nice, the ingredients have good quality, they are quick serving and very kind. Quite sad that I’m on holidays because I would come back again 🖤”

“Just had my first Rudy's Pizza experience and loved it, service was super quick from the delightful Tessa, pizza was light and didn't sit heavily, spritz were enough to know there was alcohol in them but not overkill. Highly recommend! Thanks Tessa & Rudy's for the great vibes 😊”

Good to know

“We're a restaurant in Ancoats where it’s all about the pizza. Just like in Naples, our dough is made on site every day, takes 24 hours to double ferment and just 60 seconds to cook. It is soft, light and floppy… so fold for strength or tuck in with a knife and fork. Enjoy.”
