About Nando's Manchester - Piccadilly

Nando's Manchester - Piccadilly is a restaurant in Manchester serving flame-grilled PERi-PERi chicken at 27 Piccadilly, opposite Piccadilly Gardens. Orders are placed at the counter, and the chicken comes as a half chicken. Diners choose their sauce, with lemon and herb and peri peri among the options, and bottles of different sauces can be brought to the table so each person can season the meal their own way. Corn on the cob and peri peri fries sit alongside the chicken as sides. Artworks hang on the walls of the dining room. The restaurant is a nine-minute walk from Piccadilly Station.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers return most for the flame-grilled half chicken, called tender, moist and huge, though one finds the inside lacking seasoning. Corn on the cob and chips come close behind, with the peri peri fries described as quite salty but well seasoned. A rainbow salad coleslaw and lemon and herb for those avoiding chilli also earn mentions. Staff draw steady praise as friendly, polite and attentive, including a waitress who offered a soft drink refill when a drink wasn't liked, and the team stayed calm during a busy Saturday. Complaints are scattered but specific. One reviewer found the spicy rice a little hard, almost like risotto. Another waited a long time before realizing orders go through the counter, not the table. A takeaway customer was charged an extra 20% tax line that another branch did not add. Noise and lunchtime crowds come up too. Several diners mention returning, and one visited twice in three days.

“Me and my cousin came to Nando’s to eat and relax, and we were welcomed with a great smile as soon as we arrived. When we ordered at the till, Christian was very polite and quick to take my order. Great customer service and a really nice atmosphere, we’ll definitely be coming back!”

“This was my second try at Nandi's. I tried yesterday at the Oxford street location. I ordered half chicken and a charred corn, it was a takeaway. Food was good and flavorful. I notice that I was over charged and a tax line item 20% was added extra. I ordered same items at the Oxford street location, same menu prices, no extra charges or 20%. Though the amount is small, little over 5 dollars, felt cheated and did not leave any tip. Only cautious note!!”

“Leaving this review mainly because of Adriel (if I caught his name correctly), along with the rest of the team, but he really stood out as our first point of contact. I came in on a Saturday afternoon with a couple of friends, right in the middle of a major protest in the area. Despite everything going on outside, the restaurant was still open and running smoothly, which was impressive in itself. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt welcoming and well-managed. We expected delays due to how busy and chaotic things were outside, but that wasn’t the case at all. The food arrived quickly, was fresh, and tasted great, exactly what you’d hope for. What really made the visit memorable, though, was the service. Adriel was clearly busy, handling multiple tables, yet he remained calm, attentive, and professional throughout. He wasn’t over the top, just genuinely doing his job well and making sure everyone was taken care of. That kind of effort doesn’t go unnoticed. Overall, a great experience thanks to both the quality of the food and the excellent service from the team.”

“This is a very popular eating spot. We have been twice in three days in our Manchester visit. The staff are attentive and friendly. The chicken was moist and the sides of corn and chips tasted awesome as did the chicken. Piccadilly square over the Easter weekend was a busy location. Noise is somewhat higher than some places but bearable.”
