Customer Review Summary
Curry goat and jerk chicken draw the most mentions, with diners calling them great, full of flavour and authentic, often ordered as a hench plate or hench box. Chicken wings come close behind, one reviewer saying they stayed hot throughout the meal and were seasoned perfectly. Others single out a Sunday roast with chicken melting off the bone and fried plantain a little caramelised, a pepper steak with rice and peas, a vegetarian platter and a rum punch. Several praise the friendly, welcoming staff, the music and the decor, and a few call the portions good value. One visitor describes an evening of singers, poets and storytellers that made the atmosphere wonderful. The one criticism comes from a reviewer who found the drinks small for what they cost, citing a small glass of appetiser and a multi-pack of water. Several visitors from out of town mention meeting the owner as they left, describing her as warm and kind.

“Great Caribbean style food. With good music , vibe. My only criticism is the drinks are kinda small for the price. £2 for multi pack water & £3.30 for small glass of appetiser. I would definitely come back again though.”

“Pull Up Bar Café is easily the best Caribbean restaurant in town. The food is always delicious, authentic, and full of flavour, and the prices are amazing for the quality and portion sizes you get. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it a great place for a date as well as family meals and get-togethers. Every visit has been a great experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for genuine Caribbean food at a reasonable price.”

“Visited on Easter Sunday and had a wonderful experience. It was quiet but service was really friendly. Had the hench plate with jerk chicken and goat curry, along with some chicken wings. The wings are probably some of the best I've ever had. They stayed hot throughout the meal and were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The curry and jerk were great too, and it was decent value to share with someone else. Also spoke to Sharon outside as she asked us how the food was and she was really friendly and warm warm. Will definitely visit again next time I'm in Manchester!”
