Customer Review Summary

Reviewers repeatedly single out the grilled meat, especially the joojeh and koobideh kabob (momtaz), describing it as succulent, juicy, and well seasoned, with the barberry rice and Persian ice cream (Bastani) also drawing praise for their presentation and flavor. Several diners mention starters like hummus and kashk e bademjoon fitting well into a fresh, home-style meal, and the warm, welcoming staff and Persian interior come up again and again as reasons people return. A few visits note slower service during busy periods, such as after Iftar, though reviewers attribute this to volume rather than poor attitude. Two reviews break from the pattern sharply: one diner found the food under-salted and bland, with tough shishlik meat and rice that read as Indian-style rather than Persian, while another describes a lamb shank as undercooked and inedible during a group visit of six, despite calling the staff nice and kind. Most others, though, describe returning with family or old friends for the same fresh, flavorful kabob experience.

I visited Darbar with my cousin for the first time on a Sunday around 4pm for an early dinner. We were welcomed in by incredibly friendly and smiley staff. We admired the Persian interior and the warm atmosphere around us. The menu was diligently explained to us and the waiter adjusted the dishes to ensure we had the best experience. We ordered: - Hummus - Kashk e Bademjoon - Chips - Flat bread - Momtaz - Lamb mince skewer and chicken - Barberry rice Everything was yummy! Super fresh and the meat was moist and tender. No flavour was to overpowering and each bite complemented the next. Thank you for your hospitality. I’ll be sure to bring my family again soon!

The food here was absolutely amazing! The grilled meat was so juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, and the rice was authentic and delicious. The ice cream was also incredibly nice — creamy, refreshing, and beautifully presented. On top …

The food was noticeably under-salted, so we had to add salt ourselves. Unfortunately, adding salt afterwards to bland food does not really work well, and it made us extremely thirsty afterwards. I understand that the restaurant may be trying to be cautious for customers who prefer low-salt food, but in this case it affected the overall taste. The shishlik meat was tough, and the rice served with the dish seemed to be Indian-style rice rather than the kind usually expected with Persian food. Aside from the disappointing food experience, the owner was very friendly and the staff were pleasant. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also nice and welcoming. I hope the kitchen team pays more attention to the quality and flavour of the food in the future.

How this listing is sourced

Where the data comes from
Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
How it stays current
Listings are re-checked in batches against their public profile, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
How it is ranked
Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
