  “We absolutely loved our meal here at Sparrows! The servers were super lovely especially the front of house manager Ian who went out of his way to make us feel at home. Great atmosphere.. totally comforting, delicious and perfectly cooked food ; interesting wine list .. an absolute must-visit!! I’d come weekly if I lived in Manchester…”

  “The latest trip here was just as good as the times I’ve been previously. Delicious food (even if it doesn’t look the most photogenic!). Great for groups who like to share food, which means you all get to try more different items. Personal highlight was the rainbow trout and the kase spätzle. Excellent cocktails too. A note on the staff, as they’re always fantastic, but they went above and beyond. One of the members of our group had a food intolerance and they took the time to annotate a menu so it was really clear what they could and couldn’t have.”

  “Was my first visit with friends and suprising entrance as its not obvious from the outside but great interior and we pre booked as it looked busy to highly pre booking. Food was pretty good and well explained menu by the staff knowledgeable, table is cleared after each meal. And good ambience plenty interesting artefacts to think. Would highly recommend to try dishes I have shared but great variety’s to pick from and recommend vegetarian dishes.”

  “I knew the place since 2024, but never had the chance to book the table. Finally could try today. The Pappardelle is very special, especially with the sauces of Kase. The smoked fish board is quite interesting to have some skin of lemon, to provide some zesty and fresh tone. The Goulash Tyrolese taste good, but not as special as above. Overall, the experience is quite special, and the environment is very comforting with lovely service, which just charges 10% service fee.”

  “Easily one of the best places in Manchester. Super food. Super service. Its a small place and is quite dim inside but does feel exclusive and classy. Portions on the smaller side but so tasty so I can forgive it because it means I can try more in one sitting. Definitely feels like a special occasion as you know its going to be a brilliant evening when you visit!”

  “All the staff here are phenomenal, attentive and making you feel very welcome. They also have a great grasp of the menu and recommend very well. Food is very good, the spätzle had a great texture and the bolognese sauce accompanied it well. The focaccia was also well made and was a nice side dish for the sauce. Had the meat pelmeni which was a pleasant surprise as I hadn’t had this before. The decor and atmosphere feels rather upper brow without the pretentiousness, with a lower level lighting and beautiful high vaunted ceilings that give relaxing feeling 10/10”

  “A fantastic spot with incredible pierogis and pasta. We had the butter and sage Gnocchi, guanciale Spätzle (our fav) and both types of pierogis along with focaccia and fermented cucumber. The food was incredible (and some of the best pasta I have eaten outside of Italy), excellent wine list and wonderful atmosphere topped off with attentive a. D friendly service. Already planning my next visit to Manchester so I can visit The Sparrows again!”

  “Was an amazing experience, our first time going somewhere fancy! The service was amazing and we had a main with some sides and an appetiser and desserts. We had never had spätzle before, but this was a great first time! And the pelmeni were tasty too. Great for any occasion! Booking recommended!”

  “I’ll always recommend The Sparrows to anyone looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion. I’ve visited twice now and somehow the second time was even better than the first. The atmosphere and service are fantastic and the food is beautiful - I especially loved the bolognaise gnocchi and the bigos!”

  “Fantastic find!! The atmosphere is casual but chic with atmospheric lighting and clean unfussy decor. Service was super friendly but unobtrusive. The food?! Oh my gosh, the food! Simple, delicious and reasonably priced. The Spätzle with butter and sage was the stand out dish closely followed by the sauerkraut (sweet and crunchy) and pierogi. Great cocktails too - if you don't have a sweet tooth try the Umeshu spritz. Now I'm trying to find an excuse to go back to Manchester so I can try the Bigos! Thanks team Sparrows for a fantastic lunch!”
