  “I found glass in my food so my boyfriend reported it. The manager came up to me aggressively asking for proof even though I was not the one who reported the issue. I said no he then said so it didn’t happen then? The kitchen staff who my boyfriend showed the glass to and who took it then proceeded to also say it didn’t happen. I then responded and was told I was “too aggressive” after being verbally attacked by the manager and one of the security guards and was told to get out. I asked to get my things before they tried to kick me out and the security guard with no hair told me “you’ll never see your things again”. I asked if I could pay for what I ate and they told me they don’t want my money get out. I didn’t know someone complaining about glass being in their food would be such an issue. 🙂. If I could put MINUS stars I would.”

  “I visited Aven several times during my stay this week. Although I didn't try the food, I came for the shisha and drinks, and both were excellent. We spent hours there each visit, enjoying a variety of beverages, all of which were great. The shisha was very good, and the staff were always friendly and welcoming. My only complaint is that they closed earlier than the advertised closing time. Aside from that, I had a great experience and would definitely recommend Aven if you're looking for a good place to enjoy shisha and drinks.”

  “This is the first time I’ve ever left a review for a restaurant, but I felt this one absolutely deserved it. I often see people praising the food, drinks, and atmosphere, but I rarely see anyone mention the toilet attendant. I visited last week, and one of the best parts of my experience was thanks to her. The toilets were exceptionally clean and smelled fresh throughout the evening. More importantly, she was incredibly kind, professional, and respectful. At one point, while I was intoxicated, a man was harassing me. She immediately stepped in, made sure he left me alone, and even contacted a friend of mine to keep an eye on me and ensure I was safe. Unfortunately, due to what happened afterwards, we had to leave early, so I never got the chance to properly thank her in person. Leaving this review is the only way I can express my gratitude. Thank you, Avan, for employing such wonderful staff, and a special thank you to this particular lady for her care and professionalism. She truly made a difference to my night. I will definitely be returning❤️”

  “Awful, customer service is awful the women with the long brown hair acted like she didn’t want to be here and the manager is snobby. Food was absolutely awful mcdonald’s is so much better no point even coming here and the music is so loud you can’t even think let alone hear anyone speak. The cleanliness of the restaurant is also disgusting the tables were not even cleaned properly”

  “This was my 2nd time coming here. First time was really good, food was good, as well as service and vibe. This time round the food tasted a bit funny. I ordered the exact same thing as last time so a bit confused regarding the food. The service was quite slow although maybe this was due to them closing albeit I was there around the same time and service was better. It wasn't busy both times but service on this occasion, was really slow. I'm sure I sat down for about 5-10 mins before someone saw to me. Food came out fairly quick but then another 5+ mins wait after I finished before I went to the bar to pay and leave. I ordered the steak.”

  “The food was absolutely amazing highly recommend lamb chops and the jollof rice wow really good we had the waiter called mercy she absolutely 10/10 couldn’t ask for any better service made our night good and the atmosphere was amazing and music was good very good place loved it”

  “A few friends and I visited Avan Restaurant for Christmas dinner. Our first impression was very positive, as the restaurant itself is beautiful. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill from there. The Christmas menu was very limited, with only a few meal options, and the prices were quite high. This was surprising, as you would expect more variety during the Christmas period. The “Snow” cocktail was terrible — it tasted like milk and ice with barely any alcohol. The £25 food portions were small, the fried rice was bland, and the food arrived cold. Staff appeared disorganised and confused about which meals belonged to which table, with one worker repeatedly walking back and forth with dishes. There were no hand wipes or napkins provided, and we had to ask for paper towels and cutlery. I was also unimpressed with the staff’s attitude at the beginning of our visit, which only improved after my friend mentioned she would be writing a review and expressed how unhappy we were. We were not charged for the Snow cocktail, as we couldn’t drink it. One of my friends felt sick almost immediately after having it. We ordered another drink, which was slightly better but still not worth £12.50. Overall, this was my first visit to Avan, but I wouldn’t return and would not recommend it to others.”

  “The jollof rice was really good and Mercy attended to our table, she was funny and good vibes and always ensured we were ok she had excellent service, the chicken could have been hotter but overall the flavours were there and the music created a great atmosphere.”

  “Visited in May 2025 and had a fantastic experience. A special shoutout to Mercy, our host for the evening, who was incredibly warm, attentive, and welcoming throughout. She really elevated the whole dining experience with her kindness and professionalism. We ordered a range of dishes and everything was full of flavour. The jollof rice was the absolute highlight, so good we ordered extra to take home. The chicken korma was also delicious, rich, and well-prepared. Portion sizes were generous and the food arrived promptly. The atmosphere was lively yet comfortable, and combined with the excellent food and exceptional service, it made for a really enjoyable night. Mercy in particular deserves recognition, she went above and beyond and truly stood out. All in all, this was a wonderful experience and I’ll definitely be returning. Highly recommend both the restaurant and Mercy’s outstanding service.”

  “My colleagues and I recently visited Avan Lounge Restaurant and the overall experience was a bit underwhelming. We were able to take lots of lovely pictures which remains the highlight of our visit. We hadn't settled in properly when one of the restaurant attendants insisted that we needed to place our orders immediately. We kindly explained that we wanted to take some photos first which is a common thing for a group of ladies enjoying a day out. He remained adamant. His insistence created an awkward start to our visit, and he eventually walked away visibly upset. Two of my colleagues ordered the Special Okro. One plate was rich with proteins, the other came with barely any. This was disappointing, especially since both meals cost the same. I had the Tagliatelle pasta, which was tasty but became overly oily toward the end. Unfortunately, it didn’t come with any protein option, which made it feel a little incomplete. Overall, we didn’t quite get that memorable or exciting experience that would draw us back again. That said, Avan Lounge can still be a decent place to visit if you go with the right company and create your own fun.”
