Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often come for the flame-grilled peri-peri chicken, with several describing hot food that arrives quickly and friendly staff who take note of allergies. The new mac and cheese, spicy rice and pastel de nata draw praise, though one diner found the grilled corn plain and the wings roulette all one very mild flavour, and some usual sides were sold out. The chicken itself divides opinion. Some found a thick breast dry and stringy, or burnt, and the fries overcooked and soggy. One regular sent back undercooked chicken and garlic bread and received burnt bread. Service complaints include a long wait to be acknowledged at the door, starter and main landing together, and a booked party of ten whose tables were split apart after a request to line them up. One reviewer said a manager resolved their issue. Another recalls staff offering ice cream when only three pastel de nata were left.

“First time trying this particular Nando’s branch, and unfortunately I won’t be returning due to the poor customer service we received. The Black female member of staff who served us was rude from the very beginning. She was rolling her eyes at customers, didn’t communicate clearly, and came across as very dismissive and lacking basic manners. Everyone can have a bad day, but if you don’t want to be at work, please don’t take it out on paying customers. We expect a basic level of courtesy and professionalism, and sadly that was completely lacking during our visit. Manager was able to resolve our issue and the food was perfect.”

“We have been visiting Nandos manchester fort for quite long time, but this is my 2nd bad experience, as soon i ordered the food i informed them i need chicken well cooked, i received my food and chicken was not well cooked, even garlic bread i had wasn't cooked they just spread butter on it not cooked, i gave it back to waiter and asked if he can bring bit cooked one. He took and bring me totally burnt bread. I felt it like "shut up call" don't ask us to do something after its served. I was stunned just imagine if someone has allergies and want there order according there preferences what will happen. Chicken from inside was completely filled with blood and water.”

“We had booked a table for a large party of 10 people well in advance. Upon arrival, we were given a time frame and instructed to wait, which we patiently did for 45 minutes. Because this was a pre-arranged booking that we waited nearly an hour for, it was the restaurant’s primary responsibility to ensure our group was accommodated together in the same row. Initially, your team assigned us tables 2 and 3, and a helpful female staff member began organizing them into a single row so our family/group could dine together. This is standard practice for large bookings. However, another employee named Peter interfered. He aggressively stopped her from setting up the tables and deliberately split them apart into different directions, completely separating our party. When I explained to Peter that we had booked ahead and that the single-row arrangement was perfectly fine, he became incredibly rude, defiant, and adamant. He snapped that it was "policy" not to move tables. I reasonably requested that we just try it, offering that he could move them back if it didn't fit, but he completely refused to listen and maintained a highly hostile attitude. Peter completely failed to understand basic hospitality. Nando's accepted a booking for 10, made us wait 45 minutes, and then Peter actively prevented us from sitting together, ruining our gathering. His stubbornness and lack of customer service were completely unacceptable.”

“Nando’s at Manchester Fort is one of the most highly-rated Nando’s restaurants in the city, but based on my experience, I’m struggling to understand why. A big advantage, though, is the free parking directly outside, although it can get pretty busy in the retail park and the car park overall. I was waiting for quite a while to be acknowledged at the door, even though the restaurant was mostly empty; they seemed really short-staffed, and a queue began to form, the service was slow in general, the line to order also seemed to be moving really slowly, I would advise ordering via the QR code if possible, although this wasn’t possible for me as I have an allergy. The manager who took my order seemed friendly enough and ran through everything on his iPad to confirm it was suitable, despite having a long wait to be seated, and to order, the food was coming out of the kitchen incredibly quickly, but once the food arrived, it was easy to understand why I’d much rather wait for the food to be cooked properly and fresh. I was disappointed with my meal in general. The chicken breast was way too thick, so it had dried out quickly, and it became really dry and stringy, and wasn’t too pleasant. The sides tasted like they’d been prepared well in advance and left out. especially the fries, which were overcooked and slightly soggy, the rice, which is usually one of my favourite sides at Nando’s, also wasn’t pleasant for the same reason. The interior is stylish and comfortable, and everything was well stocked and tidy, including the cutlery, napkins, and sauces. I also like the large windows, adding a reliance on natural light, combined with the usual Nando’s decor, although the communal red sofa looked like it had seen better days and could use a refresh. Fast-food quality food at restaurant pricing, I can’t help but feel annoyed to pay £16.50 for dry chicken and “old” rice and fries, especially as I had to bring my own mayonnaise as Nando’s no longer offer regular mayo as an option. I wouldn’t return to this Nando’s location.”

“Served by Rayah ♥️ she was so sweet, so accommodating for our LARGE group on short notice. I’m a regular here but in addition to the food, her service has made every visit worthwhile. Amazing people management !”
