About Albeek Manchester

Albeek Manchester is a restaurant in Manchester, run by a Syrian family from 19 Bury New Rd. The menu centres on shawarma and injected broast. The shawarma comes in chicken, mixed and lamb versions with garlic sauce, and the Chicken And Lamb Shawarma Fingers sit alongside baguette and jumbo chicken options. On the fried side, the Spicy Injected Fried Chicken is joined by injected chicken strips, and pizza rounds out the list, including a fajita pizza. Every meal ends with a free glass of hot Arabic tea, poured as a closing gesture of hospitality. The restaurant is small and has no booking system, so tables go to walk-ins, and larger groups may wait for a seat. Regulars can collect stamps on a loyalty card toward a discount.

Customer Review Summary

Arabic chicken shawarma is the most frequent draw, described as juicy and authentic, with fresh bread and an excellent garlic sauce, served with fries, salad, aioli and pickles. Close behind is the injected fried chicken, or injected broast, which reviewers call spicy, crunchy outside and juicy inside, with the injected chicken strips also singled out. Lamb shawarma, a baguette shawarma and a fajita pizza also earn praise, and portions are repeatedly called generous. Staff are described as friendly and helpful. The main complaints concern the space. The restaurant is very small, one family found no room for a wheelchair or pushchair, there is no booking, and a large party slowed service on one busy evening. One reviewer also wished there were a toilet. A single delivery order disappointed, with broasted chicken that lacked flavour and was oily, a tiny coleslaw portion, and delivery app prices far above those in the restaurant. Several diners end on the complimentary hot Arabic tea, and one praises the stamp card discount.

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Albeek Restaurant – Family Review I visited Albeek Restaurant with my family and we absolutely enjoyed the food. We ordered two platters and a pizza, and the pizza was absolutely divine! 🍕 The food was delicious, portions were good, and I felt it was really good value for money. The restaurant was extremely busy and remained busy right up until we left at around 11:30pm. While we were there, a family of around 15 people arrived, so it clearly is a very popular place. The main downside is that the restaurant is very small and not particularly accessible. If you have a wheelchair or a pushchair, unfortunately, there isn't really enough space to bring them inside. They did have a baby chair, which was helpful as we had a child with us, but we were seated right in the corner because of the limited space. Another thing to be aware of is that there is no booking system. If you're going as a large group, be prepared to wait for a table, possibly outside, as there isn't much room inside to wait. Overall, though, I would definitely recommend Albeek. The food was delicious, the prices were reasonable, and we really enjoyed our meal. If you're prepared for the small space and possible wait, it's definitely worth a visit! ❤️I can also make this into a shorter Google review version if you'd like.”

“I was craving broasted chicken and I know Syrians do it best and I haven’t had it for a long time. I ordered from Albeek based on a review I saw on social media. I ordered delivery through Just Eat today. First of all, the prices are way inflated on Just Eat. The grilled chicken and broasted chicken (£8.50 & £10) are £12 & £14 on Just Eat (40% markup). Honestly never seen that before but I ordered anyway because I don’t live close enough to pick up. Now come to the food, unfortunately it was very disappointing. The broasted chicken lacked flavour which was shocking given how well Syrians know their spices. The chicken was not fresh, you can see in the picture the drumstick is dark inside and on top of all of that it was oily. The chips were also oily and had black bits stuck to them like they were fried in unclean oil. The coleslaw was ok but it was literally a tea spoon portion, so tiny. Honestly so disappointed with the quality and I love Syrian food. I hope they do better but I will not be trying this place again.”

“I’ve tried shawarma from many places across Liverpool and Manchester, and Albeek remains one of the best Arabic shawarmas I’ve had in the UK. The chicken is consistently juicy, the bread is fresh, the garlic sauce is excellent, and even their loyalty rewards are genuinely worthwhile. Today a £21 order came down to £14 with their stamp card discount. Great food, fair prices, and reliable quality.”

“Been passing through this place since its opening and tonight decided to get in and try the food. Totally amazing! The injected chicken was at the right spice levels, crunchy outside juicy inside! The mixed Arabic shawarma was delightful. Thought to try the pizza, it was delicious, although in hindsight I as not really required as the portions were already generous. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Will be coming back again and again. Thanks!!”

“This was an accidental find, but so glad. Tuesday evening, place was packed out; managed to snag a table, ordered an Arabic shawarma including soft drink for £9. Look at the presentation on the wooden base - food itself was delicious. Chicken was cooked to perfection, tasted delicious, and accompanied by fries, salad, aioli, and pickles. Truthfully, I struggle to finish this - great portion size. Service was a little bit slower than expected due to a large party who'd reserved a table for 10, was a very casual and friendly vibe, run by a lovely Syrian family. All round couldn't recommend highly enough.”
