  “We visited Afrikana for the first time and had a really good experience. We were served by Isaac, who asked us to wait a minute while he cleaned the table before seating us. Once we were seated, he brought over the food and drinks menus and was friendly from the start. He helped us through the menu, recommended some of the popular dishes, and was really patient while we decided what we wanted. My friend is a very fussy eater and takes forever to choose 🤣, but Isaac never made us feel rushed. We weren't sure what the rice would taste like, so we asked if we could try a little before ordering. Isaac said he'd ask, and a few minutes later he came back with a complimentary portion of rice for us to try, which we really appreciated. We ordered the half chicken with rice and coleslaw, the chicken on rice, 5 wings and two drinks. The drinks came out straight away with ice, and the food arrived about 10 minutes later, which was much quicker than we expected. The half chicken was flavoured Hot 🔥 and was absolutely delicious – really juicy, full of flavour, and it went perfectly with the rice and coleslaw. It was definitely the highlight of the meal... wow, it was so good! The chicken and rice was also flavoured Hot 🔥, and so were the wings. Everything had a nice kick to it. The chicken on the rice was nice, although I did think it was a little on the dry side. The wings weren't quite as juicy as the half chicken, but they still tasted good. The garlic sauce that came with the chicken and rice was okay, but nothing special. Isaac also gave us a complimentary portion of chips, which was a nice gesture, although they weren't really to our taste. He also brought us some extra sauces free of charge, and the peri-peri sauce was really nice and went perfectly with the chicken. Overall, we had a lovely first visit, and Isaac's customer service really made the experience. He was friendly, helpful, patient, and made us feel welcome throughout. We'll definitely be coming back.   “The vibe was good. The mocktails were genuinely nicee but I wish I could say the same about the food and service. They came up saying the kebabs aren’t getting cooked properly. We requested them to hurry up as we had car park limit but They bought food after an hour of wait time but wasn’t as expected. Ordered the bbq chicken plater. But, it seemed like ready sauce and why is bbq sauce this sweet😭 even the potatoes with it were sweet. And the kebab chicken didn’t taste well marinated and cooked. Even their Africana sauce was a bit sweet. Yes, every place have its own unique flavours, may be it wasn’t according to my taste. Rice with little flavour tasted reheated. But, making everything sweet 😣😣 I saw people around being disappointed with the wait times too. I came especially to try the food after reading the reviews but unfortunately disappointed.”

  “My bro booked for 15 people. Keneisha took great care of us from the reception to the bill. Thoughtful, she gave us helpful recommendations especially for those of us (including me) who don’t eat spicy food. Thanks a lot Keneisha! As for me I love meet, I would definitely recommend this place.”

  “Went for the first time because of instagram (big mistake) and was looking forward to try it. The staff were very helpful and the place was very well put together- even a prayer room for males and females. The food looked good and thats it. I think we ate with our eyes scrolling through instagram because when we actually tried it - we were really disappointed. We ordered from their specials so expected it to be their top stuff. The presentation was beautiful, but the food came out lukewarm- in my opinion cold. We did ask them to heat it up - one dish was sent twice but still didn’t make much of a difference- just came back charred with an extra serving of chips. We couldn’t be bothered by the end of it so just ate whatever and packed up the rest home. Even the pulled beef mac ‘n cheese- “star of the show” as they said on insta was so disappointing- wasn’t as cheesy and also came cold. Jollof rice was nice though but then again we’ve never tasted jollof rice before so wouldn't know any better. Maybe the chicken dishes might have been better? But then it’ll be just another a chicken and chip shop. The manager even came to speak to us and we got £10 off but don’t think i’d trust any over hyped - insta famous place again.”

  “I recently visited this restaurant and had a great experience overall. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, making it a comfortable place to relax and enjoy a meal. The food was delicious, well-presented, and served fresh, which really added to the experience. A special mention goes to Rajesh, who provided excellent service throughout our visit. He was polite, attentive, and made sure we were well taken care of without being intrusive. His friendly attitude and professionalism truly enhanced our dining experience. Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant for both the quality of food and the outstanding service. Looking forward to visiting again”

  “Came here with my family for the first time. We ordered two different platters which consisted of grilled chicken, lamb chops, 4oz steak, prawns, chips, rice and chicken wings. All the food was all very tasty and nearly all of it was well cooked. The steak was a bit tough. The Afrikana sauce was a bit of the sweet side unfortunately, so I wouldn't get that again. The service was quick and it was going well until I ordered a portion of fries and a drink for takeaway. This is where it went downhill for me. The restaurant was busy, but not to the point where it takes nearly an hour for a portion of chips and a mojito to be made. Repeatedly told its coming and yet nothing arrived. After finally arriving, nothing was done to make up for such a long wait, just a small sorry it took so long. This unfortunately ruined the what was otherwise a great time. 4/5 for food. 5/5 for atmosphere (music was at a perfect level). 2/5 for service only because of the takeaway wait, lack of communication and lack of goodwill gesture for the extended wait.”
